Has anyone been told wrong at 16 week gender scan?

Thanks, everyone. DH and I have been hoping for a boy, but after 3 years of trying, we're both thrilled either way. I've found a few really good deals on a few things, but it sounds like maybe I should wait a little while longer. My 20 week scan will be with the high risk dr, who also has better equipment, so maybe we'll get a more clear answer then.

As far as going back, like I said, I haven't had the best experience with her, and she kinda made me feel like I was a burden, and how dare i ask any questions, so I'd be just as happy to wait and let the high risk doc do it in a few weeks.

Oh gosh this is scary! LOL

I would so hate to be told a gender and go out and buy gender specific things, and then I have the opposite gender!!!!

We have a private scan for gender at 15+1 with an experienced private sonographer. We are paying out of pocket for it. I wanted to do 16 weeks but the sonographer is out of town that week. The lady assured me on the phone when I made the appointment that the sonographer would be able to tell for sure as long as the baby is cooperating. If they CAN'T see or aren't sure, you can come back for another scan free of charge. We will have our anatomy scan when I'm closer to 19-20 weeks at my regular OB office, so I guess that will be a confirmation of the gender.

Maybe it depends on who is doing the ultrasound and how baby is turned that sometimes they get it wrong. You don't hear about it being wrong TOO often these days, but I'm sure it does happen. This private scan place I'm going has really high tech equipment, so I'm really hoping it will be obvious one way or another!!!!!!

i have had my 21 week scan today and she is a little girl so made up take a peek was right x x x
