Ladies,

I might need to have a lap done to remove an endometrioma and whatever else they find.... can you recomend a private clinic in London???

Hey huni not sure why you might pay private only for it to be done quicker than waiting on the NHS but I mean the new rules now with NHS is that you should get an appointment for the operation within 12weeks of them saying you need it doing etc so it could be worth waiting.

I know these are the new rules and guidelines that the NHS are trying to follow so it might be worth waiting to see if you get an appointment soon there suppose to deal with the issues and set an operation date within the 12 weeks guide lines..

Sorry if i sound i am saying dont go private, i am not because if i had the money i would go private but if the NHS are trying to meet the deadlines of 12 weeks it might be worth saving your money getting that done on NHS and any further treatments going private..

I know off all my appointment they have stuck to the 12weeks rule if not sooner.. If its any longer you could throw that 12 week rule towards them this might give them a kick up the back side!!

Just thought this might help you decide..
xxxx

Sorry hun i cant help, always had it done on the nhs. how about speaking to your gp and getting some recommendations from there??

thnks ladies...the only reason I'd go private is because my employer pays for my private healthcare....I thought I might aswell take advantage . it doesn't cover infertility...but I can sneak in cyst- endo removal.... I'd rather do it when I want and not when they tell me to go....I'm wondering if i should try mild IVF or IUI next month -( I'll have to pay for these)..the cyst is less than 3 cm, so they don't have to chop it off, It hasn't grown for 9 months.... what's the story with IVF with endo cyst???? we also have male factor...so I don't really want to go for a lap if something like IUI/mild IVF can help....
confused... I'm really scared doing a lap and I'm trying to find ways to avoid it at any cost....

Dilek...your specialist , if I remember corectly, was good....does he/she do work privately?

I was thinking about it after i posted and one of the consultants does have his own private practise. he was meant to do my 1st surgery but with nhs you are just put on a list and he wasnt my surgeon. I had the same lady do my surgery again for the 2nd (she is brilliant) but this time i think its going to be him (he is more senior, and my usual surgeon is on holiday).

He has a fine reputation and my fertility specialist wanted him to do it. I must admit my 1st meeting with him i had a mixed feeling about him but he is meant to be really great. He has a funny personality, he is laid back. I am meeting him on monday for my pre-op review. If you have no luck, I will ask him for his details as well.

here are his details at homerton hospital.

Im so happy it hasnt grown, just remember the gyno is not a fertility specialist. my fertility consultant skipped IUI and went straight to ivf, i think he said we had low chances of it working, dh has good sa. i did have ivf with a cyst and it was 2.5cm. i think we left it there because i already had too much surgery on my ovaries and cons thought it would be better to leave it where it is. But know we have no choice.

hun what did u mean about ivf and endo cysts??? sorry i didnt understand the question.

I've been seeing Dr Patwardan at Blackheath hospital and he is fantastic. I love him to bits.

I had a LAP, hystoscopy, polypscopy. He is very thorough and so nice. I love going to see him! Has a great personality and makes me feel very comfortable.
