Has anyone ever heard of this?

I've been having some spotting on and off since I was about 7 weeks pregnant. It happens every 2-3 weeks and is very light - just a few marks on toilet paper when I wipe. Enough to freak me out though! Every time I've had it, we've had a scan or midwife appointment shortly after and all has looked normal with the baby. Anyway, I've got it again now and have been feeling upset and worried about it. We went to see midwife last night and heard the baby's heartbeat and she didn't seem too concerned about the spotting, so I guess that's reassuring......

I also have been told I have a yeast infection so have been given some cream to treat it. I've just been reading that sometimes an infection like that can cause some spotting so I was wondering if that could be what's going on. Has anyone come across this before?

I've been told that spotting during pregnancy is relatively common-- my mom spotted all through her 3 pregnancies with me and both my brothers.

The only case where it would be a sign of pregnancy problems is with placenta previa, but if your mw hasn't been concerned, then I wouldn't worry too much.

Talk to your mw and see what she says... if she isn't concerned, she'll tell you not to worry. Good luck!
