Hello,
I am just doing some research online and on the baby forums about possible reasons that I may not be getting pregnant. I am 28 and have been ttc for around 16 months although 5 or 6 of those months I did not try.
I am going to be going to see an RE soon, but I like to be well informed on things that affect me so personally.
Once a long time ago I read that women that do not ovulate have no pms, as pms is related to ovulation. Here is the article : https://www.midlife-passages.com/page121.html
Here is the paragraph that said this " Although the causes of PMS are not totally clear, medical research points to the changes that occur in hormone levels before menstruation begins. We do know that PMS only occurs during that part of life between puberty and menopause -- the time when the ovaries are working to make both estrogen and progesterone. Women who do not ovulate do not have PMS, and often pregnancy is a welcome relief to the PMS sufferer. Research also shows that PMS tends to be more troublesome at the beginning and ending phases of the reproductive life cycle (puberty and menopause) and in the month immediately following pregnancy and childbirth as the menstrual cycle begins again."
I am thinking that there may be some truth to this. The only symptoms of pms that I have is swollen and sore breasts, and then I may be a little sensitive, like ill cry easily when watching something emotional on TV.
There are times where I will notice that my breasts are not swollen or sore at all. Not many, but I do notice when this happens. So I think that this may be because on those months, I did not ovulate even though I had a period. I have never missed a period before.
So what do you guys think? Have you heard anything in regards to PMS being related to ovulation before?
Regards
