Possibly a little premature but I like to be organised and hate leaving anything to the last minute so we've started getting things ready at home.

Has anyone else started preparing their house/nursery?

I don't think it's too early at all!! With dd as soon as I found out she was a girl at 15 weeks we started working on her nursery!! Already started on this one's too!!

I haven't started 'hard core' prep, but I drew up a plan of the room we plan to use to work out what would fit and start thinking about furniture choices. Then I saw the exact crib I wanted on sale second hand for 30% of the full price and just grabbed it! Hadn't expected to start buying things quite yet, but now that I have, I don't think it's a bad idea - I'd rather put it together bit by bit than be in a mad scramble when I'm about to pop!

I'm going to start soon. Although I think it's a tad too early for me I'd like to get it done :)

Glad to hear I'm not completely nuts!

We luckily don't have decorating to do this time but there's loads of 'things' that need to be done and a ton of things that need to be sorted through so have been trying to crack on with things I can do. Think I'll leave my hospital bag until 30 weeks (unless I get everything else finished then I'll have no option but to start!)

I would like to, but we don't even have one yet haha. We live in a one bedroom apartment but are moving to a two bedroom in three weeks. But it's going to be torture trying not to buy anything yet, because we are waiting for the baby shower before getting anything. But after the shower, we will definitely be setting things up.

I'm a FTM, so even though I can feel the little guy every couple of hours and I've seen him on ultrasound, it still doesn't quite feel real yet. I think once his room is set up and waiting for him, it'll feel more real.

I am a strong believer that the sooner you do it, the better. I have been working on it all this week and my ankles are swelling to the size of softballs from painting and what not :( Last time I had all of the painting done by now and didn't have this problem.

We're sharing our room with him, so we've already re-arranged all the furniture and set up the crib. Also got his clothes hung up in the closet and sorted out a cabinet in the kitchen for the bottles/bibs/etc. Just gotta tackle the linen closet so there's a place to put all of his blankets!

We're going to start planning on where things will go this weekend. We also only have a 1 bedroom apartment so he'll be in the room with us! :)

I've stated putting ideas together on Pinterest. Now that we know we have a baby girl coming it is easier for me to plan the nursery!

Only down side, as of right now we are moving (DH is in the military) 4.5 weeks before the baby is due so I won't be able to set up a nursery until she is practically here. DH is even against buying the furniture before we move because we seem to always have new scratches and dents after a move.

Hoping and praying that something changes and we won't have to move, in the military, I never put full stock into a move until I have seen the orders!

Am in the process of buying a new house but as soon as we move in I'll get started on the nursery (as well as my sons room) :) can't wait!

FX for you! I hate moving, and can't imagine trying to PCS right before the baby is due!

Something strange happened back in late august- i felt complelled to start the nursery. I painted grey and white and put up a new blind. And got a little wardrobe which i also painted. And i consider that my first pregnancy symptom because 2 weeks later i found out i was pregnant!

My nursery was started ridiculously early but its what i wanted to do so...

Now i have a cot in there too. i still have stuff to do but i'm letting my nesting compulsion take care of it and just doing what i feel like xxx

We have sort of started. We have the furniture in, but it isn't where it will be for the baby. It's all just kind of in there. We haven't decorated or anything.

We live on base housing (military), so we can't paint. We could, but then we have to prime and paint back to the original color before moving. We hope to be gone by July, so no point.

I'm not even sure whether I'm going to do a proper nursery this time round. I did one with Maci but she stayed in our room till over 1 and then Summer was desperate to share with her so she never really used it. I'm worried same thing will happen again this time. At present the spare room is used for clothes storage...

Decorated the nursery on New Year's Day as we were having the furniture delivered on the 5th so been putting up the furniture last week. Unfortunately found part of the wardrobe was damaged so waiting on them delivering a replacement.

We've also done it in grey and white and will be adding orange accessories.

We have painter and decorator coming next week to freshen up house and I'm choosing paper and blinds for nursery , I'll leave everything else til I'm a bit further on as only 18 weeks . Nothing wrong with being organised though xxx

We've started! I hadn't really thought about this being too early at all... is it?? I just can't imagine wanting to be arguing about what shade of peach is JUST girly enough without being TOO girly when I'm hugely pregnant. My goal is to have all the big stuff done by then and just have organizing and clothes washing left to do.

We just finished painting the new guest room this week so we can move the furniture into it that's currently in the nursery. We're painting the nursery this weekend! I am VERY excited. And we ordered cordless roman shades that came yesterday, so I'll probably make DH hang those up too. :winkwink:

Ooooo so lovely to hear lots of people started already!

He'll be in our room to begin with and the moses basket and stand has a spot so that's easy but the 'nursery' won't be finished for at least 6 weeks as the furniture is going to take that long to arrive! But if everything else is done I'll be able to relax I think.

Got a list of little jobs to do to keep me occupied until I can start sorting clothes so shouldn't be too bad a wait!

I definitely had everything completely ready by 7 months last time so aiming for a finish about the same time with this one! I find I get quite tired and grumpy towards the end so doubt I'll be wanting to still be preparing things!!
