I'm not sure whether Lo is just having a couple of quiet days or whether it's normal but his movemts seem to have changed. They don't seem as strong and he's not wriggling as much. I know he's not got much space in there but do u think I should go to be monitored at hospital or is this 'normal' for this stage of pregnancy?

I think i felt him 10 times yesterday, but today it's only been about 5 so far and they're not very strong, they're almost like shuffles.:nope:

Any advice? I've read somewhere that LO sometimes move less just before labour but I can't see that happening yet lol

Thanks

No idea as i am not that far, but didn't wanna read and run. I think i would ask to be monitored if i was you, there is no point in stressing when they can easily check your little one out (yes, i know you feel like a pain in the bum asking to be monitored, but it's worth it).

I hope all is well - maybe you will be starting labour soon!!

Yip I'm 37+6 and since wk 37 baby bn a lot slower only this morning I'm sitting prodding at my tummy and putting a cold glass on top until baby started moving

I was advised that if you haven't had much movement try and encourage baby to move- icy drinks, light prodding etc, and if you don't get a response that's when you should go in. But if you're worried there is no harm getting monitored. I have gotten less rigorous movement and not as strong, but tbh it's been gradual so I haven't been too worried, I gather it's as he loses room.x

im not quite 37 weeks yet but LO definately has been gradually quietening down, to shuffles..yesterday they were quite forceful though....think it was too much sugar..lol as long as ur still feeling movement i think LO should be ok..but u know whats normal and what isnt for ur LO x

I'm 38 weeks and was monitored at hosp today for reduced movements as it happens ( but had a bit of blood yesterday too so wasnt just for that), but the midwife did say that there's nothing wrong with going in to be monitored when your baby is moving a lot less than he/she usually does, especially at later stages when you notice a change. They just listened to the heartbeat for an hr and atleast it puts your mind at ease knowing you've acted on your concerns. Try and do things like others have suggested to get baby moving, but today has taught me not to sit, wait and worry when a simple visit can ensure baby is ok, because after all, we can't tell whats going on in there :) xxx

i am not quite there yet and my other kids were so long ago i don't remember much. i was just reading about this and it was advised that they are growing so quickly at this rate and just don't have hardly any room to dance around in there anymore. i think it is ALWAYS better safe than sorry if you are truly worried. i would much rather go to be monitored and told everything is fine. the hospitals get that all the time and honestly, who cares if you "aggravate" them? when it comes to the health of your child, you are going to do anything to protect them. inside AND outside the womb!!!

My doctor said i should expect the baby to move at least 6 times in 2 hours. He said turn off the TV or any noises, place your hand on the tummy because sometimes they are moving and we cant feel them. I tried the other day and true enough he was moving and i couldnt feel him until i placed my hand on the tummy.

My LO has been responsive to my pokes, once in a while i poke hi and he moves for me so it is reassuring.

I'm 37 weeks tomorrow, I have had 1 really quiet day and ended up calling hospital (as instructed by a MW). They were so friendly, really really nice, I would call them if your worried hun. x

I am just coming up to 35 weeks and my LO has already slowed down, the movements are big and slow and less frequent now, and VER uncomfortable, I am guessing he has a lot less room to kick and punch.
I wouldn't worry too much, it is normal for them to slow down towards the end.
