I'm so excited. Having been offered this job at the very beginning of February I have finally been cleared to start (CRB check takes flippin ages!) and will be starting the new job on Monday 26th April :happydance: I can't wait. It's completely different to anything I have done before and I am looking forward to all the new learning and challenges.

Oh wow!! Thats brilliant!

Congratulations!!!! :hugs:

xxxxx

Awww birlliant hun :hugs: New beginning maybe? Hope you enjoy the job! xx

Its community childrens nursing. Looking after kids who have complex needs and are on ventilators, dialysis etc.

Congratulations hun and i know them crbs are a nightmare! gotta fill mine in June to go back uni in september! :S xx

Thanks hun! I'm already half way through it so only a year and a half to go! Seemed doable when i started though still hard work so i'm sure i got my work cut out for me! :D x

Aww that last bit will fly. I couldn't believe it when got to the last 6 months lol. I was like crap where did the last 2 and a half years go?! Have you got someone to look after little man? Or is he in the college nursery?

Well my mum got made redundant so she said she's happy to share the care with Archie's Dad! I must admit, i do miss it! and my hospital where i work at is across the road, can see it from me balcony! x

Oh thats good! My mum and sister look after James for me when I'm at work. Is there anything you want to specialise in once you qualify?

I like gynae and epilepsy interests me as i have it myself so seem to know a lot about it anyway! did think about doing midwifery for a while but didn't enjoy my time on labour ward! :)

Lol I will be looking after kids with epilepsy among other things. I couldn't do gynae. Couldn't deal with all the poor women going through miscarriages and that. Horrible.

Yeah it is hard but I like being the "support" bit for the patients like their advocate, particuarly as some (not all!) doctors aren't very sympathetic and treat patients like just another number on their case load! Oh that will be interesting, well, for me it does, as i was practically a kid when i started having all my jerks and i would of liked someone at school to talk to about it (we had no school nurse, etc!) so i brush them under the carpet! x
