as much as this little jelly bean was planned & as excited as we are & we can give this baby an amazing life, I'm still scared out of my wits to tell my mum and dad.

I have my first midwife app on June 13th and a scan 2 weeks after that so ill be 8 weeks at the scan..
I was thinking about waiting until after that.

any advice on how to do it though? want something cute really and have a few ideas in my head but I'm scared of her reaction xx

Congratulations!!!!

I have yet to tell my parents or my in-laws. However, I am really not concerned about doing so. I have no reservations about it.

I really don't know what to say because I couldn't even imagine being scared. When its planned, like you say, its such a joyous occasion!

You mention having announcement ideas, then you must be beyond excited to share this news. Do it....when you are ready of course...and enjoy the excitement of those around you!

If you are scared to tell your parents...then do it when you know that no matter their reaction you are pleased with your decision to conceive and when nothing will get you down about it.

They might react better than you imagine hun :hugs: I was nervous about telling my mum about this baby as my 2nd daughter was only 3 months old, it wasn't planned and I'm only 21 but she was so lovely and I really needed the support :)

Good luck!

thanks girls!

I'm just worried because I know everyone will be excited except my mum, I feel like she's gonna be 'oh I'm so disappointed' etc
but I know my dad is going to be really happy (they're split up so she can't sway his decision :haha: )

it's literally only my mamma I'm scared of haha it's because we're so so close and I don't want her to be disappointed.

I was thinking about getting her a bag of jelly beans (that's what we call our little bean) & printin her a copy of the scan photo, put it in a bowl at the bottom of the jelly beans as she can find it herself?!

thanks girls its so nice knowing I'm not on my own in the pregnancy xx

I can understand your position, I am absolutely dreading telling my family, one of my sisters had a miscarriage and so I feel as though she'll be upset. I think my siblings would be supportive but I don't feel the same way with my parents, it sounds really stupid as I'm 26 and married, so it isn't like I'm in an unstable position.

It doesn't help that I work for my Dad so I'm really going to have to tell them soon, but think I will hold off until the 12 week scan as I also panic and don't want to tell them and then to have actually miscarried and stressed myself out with it for no reason!

I hope it does go really smoothly for you though, and I'm sure that you're Mum will end up being excited even if you are met with hesitation at the start x

thanks hun.

I'm sure you'll be supported honey & you're sister might be sad at first until she realizes she's having a niece/nephew!

I wonder why it's so scary no matter what age you are haha xx
