Doctor said I should have another c section because my fibroids are so large and in a place that will make vaginal birth very difficult. I delivered my daughter by planned c section because I had an issue with my placenta. My experience was ok, just extremely painful and long recover, and i had an allergic reaction to the morphine and broke out in blisters all over my face. I would love to know what your 2nd csection was like. If it was better or worse. What did you do differently the 2nd time around?

Well im a good person to ask, just had my second section monday, will post a post with my story in a min x

My first section, an emcs, was since I stalled at 6 cms, which once inside they realised was because of a large fibroid that is very close to my cervix, which also prevented my ds from turning.

My recovery from the EMCS wasn't terrible, but long.

My second ds, was a planned cs, they said due to the location of my fibroid that I would not be able to deliver naturally. And the planned c-section was amazing!!! so relaxed, got up in the morning after a full night sleep, went in had my baby. I had a lot of trouble nursing my first and really wanted to try and get my second on me sooner, the nurses were amazing and at the first possible moment, he was on me.. and he was a nursing machine!!! I will be requesting the same again this time! My recovery was soo easy, I often say because it was planned, and I didn't labour first, they were able to take their time and such. I was outside playing with my then 5 year old (road hockey) only 5 days after surgery.

Good luck!

Kim

Congratulations on number two!!

I had my second planned c section in April and it was soooooo much better than the first. I knew what to expect and recovery was much easier. I was most nervous about my ds1 who was 15 months old but honestly I was picking him up after four days because I just couldn't help it (although I wouldn't recommend it).
I made sure to walk a lot in the hospital and I was allowed to leave a day early. I still had pain but nothing like the stinging pain from the incision the first time around. My ob said it was because Of the numbness from the scar. I felt nauseated the first day but accepted medicine straight away. I told the Drs before the surgery what I was nervous about from the last surgery. My first was still good but the second was still better!!
Good luck!!

I felt more in control the second time. I knew a little more what to expect. I tried to go for VBAC but had urgent C section due to failure to progress.

I was able to ask for more pain medication when it was necessary and was up and about much quicker. I had less PP bleeding and felt like I recovered a lot better.

My 2nd C Section was planned but I went into labor 4 days before. It was more relaxed even though I was having painful contractions. Healing time was a lot faster and I was moving around a lot sooner. Less bleeding and shorter duration. Definitely much better than the first.

Staking this thread. I'm having my second c section and it's lovely and reassuring the see that lots of ladies had a better experience second time round :)

I'm stalking as well! I'll be having my second in March! I absolutely hated my first c section.

My first was an unplanned emergency c-section so I was naturally very anxious about my second one. I worried about it throughout my whole pregnancy but my dr reassured me it would be much different this time around. She was right! I felt much more in control and prepared. I was still a little nervous but the surgery seemed to go by quickly. The recovery for me was faster also. I'll be having my third in July and I'm not as anxious about it.

Definitely! The 2nd time around I had very little pain and healed much quicker. Honestly my cramping was way worse than my surgery pain!

my 2nd C-section was absolutely fantastic. Showed up like a doctors appointment, they wheeled me in, BOOM BAM THANK YOU MA'AM, and I have my baby boy. lol
