Judgement free zone, judgers be gone.

Elaborate if you wish, what happened to make you forget? How long was the car ride? How old was your baby? How did you feel when you realized?

I did this YESTERDAY!! My Lo is 6 weeks old, he was strapped into his car seat, but his car seat wasn't buckled in with the seat belt (the seat belt was wrapped round the seat but not plugged in iykwim  I got 10 mins round the corner to Tescos, went to unplug his and realised, felt sooooooooooooooooooooo guilty and relived that nothing had happened, I haven't yet confessed to anyone I know :haha:

I did with my boy when he was around 3 months! so in his infant carrier but no seat belt around. I don't know what made me forget. Ithink I was trying to sort my older boy out. He was mmoaning and not doing what I asked him to. So I buckled him in first and then completely forgot about baby. Our journey was around 30 mins, so a long time! I was horrified when I realised. I always ensure I buckle baby in first now.

Yes! I put the seat in car to get out of rain, folded buggy and drove home! When I got home I was thinking ohhhh shit! Theres no point dwelling on it though! Yes I made a mistake but I wont punish myself for it though I am extra alert now!

I've never forgot to strap him IN the car seat (not saying I never could, just hasn't happened!) BUT I thought OH buckled the car seat to the car and he thought I did it. Needless to say I got to my destination and realized NEITHER of us did it  I felt terrible and kept thinking "What if?!".

I can't remember how old LO was...I think around 7 months. It was a short 5-10 min trip.

I almost forgot the other day. Me and OH had icecreams and sat lo in his chair whilst we ate them, i asked oh to strap him eat and he said he would do in a minute then i went to start the car after finishing the icecream and if oh hadnt have gone and strapped him in before getting in the car i know i wouldve forgot. There have been 2 occasions though when my oh said he doesnt need strapping in because we are only going round the corner (quite literally but still!). I was horrified!

I did when Darragh was really young, like a few weeks old. It sent me hysterical. I was already a PP mess and this just about tipped me over the edge! Never even nearly done it since though

Yes, I hate to say, what's worse is I did it about three times. My brain is going nuts I guess..it was always times when he was smaller and we just took his whole carseat in a restaurant. I would take him out for someone t hold and if we put him back in we didn't bucket right away. My fault every time and got so upset over it. The ride wasn't long but that's beside the point..

Yep, I did it...only once though coz it made me feel so awful! The seat was buckled into the car, but Chloe wasn't buckled into the seat!

Yep! We were sat down the beach having a cuppa and my oh changed Rory's nappy. He was only tiny at the time. Well oh put Rory back in the car seat (it was isofix so no messing) and sat back down for his drink. He didn't fasten him in but planned to do it before we set off. Well,we both forgot! And drove all the way home with him unfastened! It was before he got wriggly!

Yep. Only one time when she was two months old. I had taken her carseat into the restaurant with me where I was having lunch with a friend. Took her out to feed her and put her back in. I usually always buckle her in when I put her back in her seat but guess I was distracted talking to my friend and didn't buckle her, just sat her in. When we left I plopped her seat onto the base and drove off. Just barely got down the street when I started thinking about whether I buckled her in or not. Pulled over and sure enough she wasn't buckled in! Felt absolutely horrible and so glad I had just gotten down the street before I realized!

Yes once when he was about 4 months old. It was torrential rain and I was rushing to get him in the car and I got flustered. I realised when I got home which was about 5 minutes away. I've never felt so awful and guilty in my life, I just kept thinking what if?

Yes. Both me and my husband have done this. Nothing even made me forget, it just slipped my mind!

Yeah couple weeks ago. I put him in the car put the seat belt round and then go round the other side and fasten him in. It was a really hot day so I turned the ignition on to get the air con going. I realised when I went to undo the seat belt that I'd never fastend it in, I literally could of cryed I felt so bad. Now I check so many times before I leave lol.

I nearly did this last week, it was only when I went to sit in the drivers seat and saw him licking the mirror that I realised! I have never shot round so fast in my life.

And yes, my baby likes to lick his reflection, strange boy!

Oh my god ladies I'm so glad I made this thread. I felt so guilty I was sure someone would take my baby away if I told them but I had to get it off my chest.

The lift bridge went up and I was parked for about 10 minutes, I was so worried my lo would overheat but I knew traffic could resume any minute. I was fanning her to try to keep her cool. When we finally set off I decided to stop at a coffee shop to get water in case I wanted to rub her down, at the same time I got a 7up for me and a coffe, so I was trying to juggle my purse, baby, a tray with 2 drinks in it and a bottle of water. I put the tray on the car, plopped lo in her car seat, put my purse in the front, put the tray in the car, set up the sun shield, closed her door and drove off!
It was a 45 min + drive but also, what makes me soo guilty :(...
I hit another car along the way. My gps brought me to an unfamiliar place so while in traffic and trying to look at street signs and figure out which way to go I didn't notice the guy in front of my stopped. I was going very very slow! My foot wasn't even really on the gas. But I was so mortified. I pulled over afterwards to catch my breath, and then went about my way. When I got to my destination and opened the door my lo was slouched down the seat from wriggling about :( I couldn't believe it.

I could have cried, but I was at her dads and did NOT want him to know.

She seems fine, but if I had been going any faster... :(!!!
