Having a baby at Jessops Wing - Sheffield

Im having bubs at Rotherham for this reason and this reason only. When i go into labour the last thing i want to worry about is were to put the bloody car lol and like someone else said i really dont want OH dissapearing to park especially in that area of sheff it could be miles away lol. At rotherham if you need to park for a long time you used to be able to get a permit from the ward your staying at so you can park on hosp grounds for free or at least this is what it was like with my first any way :-/ hope it hasnt changed lol.
even if you cant get parked in hospital there are so many streets you can park on that are a 2 second walk away that arent really that busy.

Do they? I was going to go to Rotherham as it'd probably be easier for me to get to. And easier for OH to get to with him working in Rotherham (that's if he was working when I went into labour). But I decided against going there.. :/ Didn't really know what parking was like tbh

parking is great in the whole area you can park in hospital grounds 24/7 although you have to pay think its £6 for over 6 hour or the hospital its self is set within a really nice housing area so all the houses in area have drives so 9 times out of ten you can park on street bang accross road from hospital :-)

Rotherham is good for parking !! I live about 2 miles away from the hospital so not a long journey for me - yes they still have a free parking permit if your on the labour ward !! Just ask at reception when you arrive x

That's good then, didn't really think to park it in a residential area, I dunno, I dunt think I'd like to leave it haha. And I know it's got alot of double yellow lines around the hospital too, so thats a no go lol. I only live about 5 miles away from Roth hospital but ohwell, stick to Barnsley :/ lol x

I nearly went to Chesterfield Royal to have baby just because the parking there is excellent. I work there though and I wasn’t keen on having a baby where I work LOL.

We did consider Chesterfield because they have more birthing pools available but I'm just not comfortable with the journey, especially as DH has to run back and forth on pet duties!
