What's it like having your baby in Newbrunswick?? I'm due in November and just wondering if I would need to bring my own diapers, wipes, and maxi pads. I know in the states my sister said the hospital sends her home with TONS of those things, but here I'm not so sure they would do that because of the healthcare system. Just like to know what to expect and how to plan for the big day.. which is still some time away ;)

I'm due in September and will be giving birth just south of you in Saint John, New Brunswick.

You need to bring everything yourself. They will provide a baby bathtub and a few other things for use while at the hospital but nothing else. The hospital provided me with a list of what I need to bring for baby and myself. Your hospital can likely provide one for you too.

Good luck with your birth!

I believe most Canadian hospitals you need to bring everything your baby will need with you to the hospital.

If you take a birth class through your hospital though they will tell you for sure why you need I bring

I had a baby in Fredericton at the DEC last June. While they do suggest you bring diapers, sanitary napkins, baby wipes, etc., they will provide for you while you are there. They sent me home with a few extra nighttime pads, which was nice. Be prepared and bring your own just in case, but know that they will not leave you hanging.

They just changed for the province I believe to not be providing anymore. When I had my DD they provided all but clothes while you were there and some to take home but when I had my meeting with them they said this has changed and you need to supply everything.
