took my 3 year old to school. the weather is awful where I am, and the rain is very heavy. And my son whos 13 months was put in the pushchair, and he started to scream as soon as i put the raincovers over the pram. As my partner who works shifts normally taxis us around if its raining, was working, I had to use the covers. He screamed and kicked all the way to the school and all the way back and one time managed to pull the covers off and he got one leg out of the footmuff. When i got home he was heistrical and sobbing and cried himself to sleep. It was so horrible.and i feel really down now knowing that i got to take him back out later with the covers over him. it really upsets me. x

Awwww :hugs: Poor you & poor LO.

Haven't really got any advice I'm afraid, but will keep my fingers crossed that the weather gets better in Wales :flower:

I very much doubt it :( it just upsets me when hes upset. I hate hearing my babies cry. :( cant stand it.x

Could you wrap him up within the pushchair and not put the cover on if it bothers him (and you) that much, it's not too cold yet so as long as he's wrapped up and you accept he'll get a wet it might make the return journey a little less stressful for you both?
It'd also be a learning experience for him ie if you don't have the cover on, you'll get wet, he might even enjoy it!?
Keep your chin up! X

:) thanks flower but the weather here is awful he would be soaked if it was light rain i would definetly do it. But people would think i was a neglectful mum taking him to the school in this weather without the covers lol. and im new where i live so dont really know many of the mums and dont want them thinking im neglecting my baby :( (i know im so paranoid about this sort of stuff). x

aw hun :hugs: have you got any stickers i know it sounds daft but alfie hates his rain cover so i stuck a few stickers on and also those tommee tippee bath toys that have the suckers on them and stuck them on the inside of the raincover and he loves it, hell sit there for ages just looking at them trying to peel them off and it keeps him quiet too.
Hope your trip back to the school goes better hun.

<3

Lily hated hers as well, but once I got a toy bar for the buggy, she got used to it. She'll still give the odd sob if we've a long way to go but most of the time she's fine.

thats a good idea :) iv got stickers (will try them) and he already got a toy bar. but i think hes so distressed he doesnt care for toys x

when mine were older they also hated the rain covers and so i had a kagool type thing that had a hood and then covered baby completely along with the seat of the push chair and down over thefeet and up and over the handles...! i still have it and will use it for this lo when he gets a bit older!
