id really like to get a thank u present/s for the midwives that attend my home birth..just not sure what to get!

any ideas?

Hi I'm a nurse in a busy ward and one of the most thoughtful thank you gifts the ward staff have ever been given on discharge of a patient, was a small hamper full of tea, coffee, biscuits and a large box of black pens!! It was fab, benefitted the entire team and we really needed those pens!! I know you will only get two midwifes at your house but they will have been part of a team all of whom would have been part of your care, behind the scenes. Hope that helps, if not a box of posh chocs never o astray lol

I say make their stay nice ;) We will be providing lots of coffee, tea, good snacks like fresh fruit and nice cheeses, a bottle of red wine for all (sorry, mine are French lol they will do this here), some fresh blankets/pillows for them to rest if they need to take turns, a computer set up, etc.

What about one of those little watch things that you clip on your uniform? She may already have one though. Just a thought

oops just realised you said midwivesss I was just thinking of a gift for one person. So I checked the prices...I was actually surprised

You can obviously pay more for them too, but I just picked an affordable one.

great idea thanks! would never have thought of that!:)

thanks everyone! its so hard as i dont know which midwife i will get, it could be the one ive had for most of my appts if she happens to be on duty when i go into labour, or it could be someone ive not met before. either way...i feel it would be nice to give a little something to say thanks. definitely going to make sure i make the house lovely for them and plenty food/drink/sweets on offer!:)xxx

Maybe some lovely hand cream as they have to use that alcohol hand gel all the time and it dries your skin out no end xx
