Im 28 and I've been ttc for 2 years. I have a son who is 4 but have not been able to fall preg since. 6 months ago I seen a doctor who ran bloodwork all of which came back perfect .I had an ultrasound and then hsg test which came back that I had a hydrosalphinx on my left tube . The doctor pretty much ruined any hope for me and advised I see a fertility specialist. After seeing the RE he rec. I do a lap to check further . I'm scheduled for lap on Jan.7 2014 . He also advised during the lap that we remove my hydrosalphinx tube. I agreeed to have it removed just wondering if anyone else had this issue and fell pregnant afterwards without ivf or iui and roughly how long afterwards.

I also lost my left tube, and ovary,.....mine to a gaint cyst. All you need is ONE. My best friend had 3 kids naturally and she was BORN with only one ovary.

My lap went well my doctor removed my left tube and my adhesions which were covering my LG intestinal tract and attached my ovary to my abdominal wall. I'm on CD10 today . My 'RE said I.could start trying this cycle and if I was not pregnant in 6 mths we would try clomid. I so hope this will be our month.

I have been diagnosed with hydro in my left tube as well and it has been reccoomended to have it removed. Did you have success with your surgery, have you had success in getting pregnant with your right tube?

I have one naturally blocked tube, and it's not worth even trying to reopen. They believe i've had one open tube all along and I had 4 kids naturally without any intervention. Looking back now I realize they were probably right as there's just about 3 years between my kids and we weren't trying but not protecting either.

If you only have one tube you certainly can get pregnant, i would suggest monitoring for the next 2 months after removal to see if you're ovulating on your remaining ovary every month or just every other month. Maybe it'll take "twice" as long to get pregnant, or maybe you'll ovulate every month from the remaining side . I realize it's been six months since you made this post, and since someone else bumped it I just thought i'd add as well :)

Hi

How are you all getting on?

I had my left tube removed after a hydrosalpinx too, after some very long years ttc and a failed IVF cycle I had it removed and gave up trying for a year due to new job and the stress of it all but started trying again and conceived in the first month with clomid and couldnt believe it! My little girl is nearly 4 now but am unfortunately in the same boat again ttc no 2 Clomid didnt work this time and am having to go through all the blood tests again :( bringing back some old emotions! just waiting for HSG appointment to come through to see whats going on in there.

It can happen :) keep positive its a horrible emotional roller coaster this journey but there are some happy endings :)

Fingers crossed for you all :)
