Hcg levels

hey guys do you mind if i join this post, just want a bit of advice. im about 4 weeks pregnant n my levels since last thursday were 860, then went downt o 754, then bk up to 1275 n then 1444 this week. the docs have told me my protesgerone is only 19 n my womb lining is 4mm. n that im havign an eptopic coz iv had two scans where thy can see nothing .
too me i feel its just too early but they are insistign that im havign an eptopic n want to give me an injection next week.
iv heard so many stories with ladies with hcg levels alot lower then mine and goign up just as fast.....
iv got to go back to the hospital on wed next week for more bloods n then the consultant wants to give me the shot. im goign to ask for anothewr scan before this just in case but im terrifed that its far to early to see nthign and they will just be terminating a perfectly fine pregnancy.
on the other hand if it genuinly is eptopic ill need it sorted asap before it ruptures....

in my head though if they cant see anyhting then its just too early coz if its eptopic surely they cud see it sumwhere.....

thats what iv been told, they are adament its not going to go ahead coz my protegerone level is 19 instead of 20 and my levels arent doubling they are only going u p a few hundred, n my lining is so thin. iv come across women on the forums wtih each of these,...

Well I got my hcg level drawn again tonight and was able to get the result. I didn't talk to the nurse though I just had her write on the order that I could get results from lab myself. It was 155, up from 114 two days ago, so not looking good. Everyone keeps telling me, "at least it's going up and not down." And I guess that is good, but I worry about ectopic pregnancy. I have not bled or had any spotting, but I am taking progesterone, so I wonder if that is why I haven't had bleeding. Ugh, I really don't know what to think. I've heard stories of people in my situation going on having normal pregnancies, but I know it's not common at all. I just want to know one way or the other. The not knowing is killing me. I'll just have to wait untill Monday to see what the doctor says. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound on Thursday. I'll be 6 weeks. So we'll see what happens.

So I justed wanted to add my situation so I think I'm 5 weeks but I have had a lot of pain on both sides of abdom an lower back ache I had bloods take on 3rd oct they came bk a 98 but don't know how far I am then as I was nt tracking ovulation anyway had bloods done on the 5th oct 48 hurs lata they were 598 I have had. 2 scan but with there only being they said nice thick lining and that it would be to early to see didn't do anymore bloods but got another scan on 22nd oct I. Just really scared that this is an eptopic but they said I had a 1/halfcm cyst on each ovary and that there something to do with ovulation the 1 on my left is disbursing and that could explain the pain but I have like AF like cramps and pressure in my lower back just want eptopic excluded frm my pregnancy so any advice on what this could be

i think it all depends on what docs u get and thier opinions in the beginning. my friends mum is a gyneo nurse on the ward next to the one iv been seeingm so im goign to go n talk to her tomo n see what she thinks

Yeah I talked to my husband last night after getting the results. We both agreed that we will not allow any shot or medicine to terminate the pregnancy unless we know for sure that its ectopic. If it's not ectopic I would prefer to miscarry naturally if possible. I can't help but still hold out some hope that everything is ok. I guess hope is all we have. But keep me posted on what happens with you!!

i will do, iv been told that if they still see nothing next week then i have to have the shot otherwise its goign to rupture n i cud die so i dotn really have a option. i am insisting on that scan tho, as they are only goign to go on my blood work!

4 weeks at 8000 is unheard of. The common range for 4 weeks is 5-436. My levels at 3weeks5days was 27hch and prog 3.6! i was put on proges and they went up to 110hcg and prog 18! My dr said he was happy that they went up. I dont know why your doctors are already terminating?

At 4 weeks 4 days mine were 1500 which the nurse said was high x

see this is what im talkign about!!! but when i say this to them they arent accepting it! i feel liek walking into another hospital and asking them!

im praying so so so much that next week i walk into a scan and there it is in the rite place, not only for me but also so i can have a massive go at them for even suggesting this to me!
i think the reason they are so adament is because they havent seen anything on the us yet, but as a lot of ppl have said you wont see a thing untill your levels are at least 1500, and mine werent quite there yet!

That is true. You cant see anything until then. Even after then, its possible you cant see anything.

I would get another opinion, our Dr sounds like a nightmare. I dont even really like mine, but he gave me hope with my numbers going up.

If you read it, also read the related post (link at the bottom of the post) called "Ectopic Pregnancy Clarifications." I'm a Christian, and I'm 100% against terminations (I know we won't agree on this... let's agree to disagree, okay?). After reading this a few months ago, it was actually a huge relief to me. I no longer automatically equate ectopic with termination, and I know what course of action I would take if I found out my pregnancy was ectopic. And if that was the case, I would also be doing a bunch more research!

Anyway, I just wanted to give you a different perspective. I'm not a doctor, and neither is the author of the blog. Only you can make a decision that you're comfortable with!

I'm so sorry fr your loss jgirlThink it is a good idea to know why your body is rejecting future pregnancies as I had this problem even after havin 5 but then came do to anti d time scale after my last labour but I'm fine now and miracles happen Everyday good luck
