Can someonne please explain to me about HCG levels

Why do we have to test first thing in morning ?

Is it possible for SOME individuals to have higher readings of HCG at night rather than in morning.

SOrry if i sounds stupid.

It is to do with how long you have held onto your urine for. So if you have got up at 4am and then tested at 7am it will have only been in your body for 3 hours, so techically if you peed at 3pm and didn't test until 10pm then the potenial HCG would be higher.

you're more likely to have more hcg in FMU because of the fact that you haven't gone to the bathroom and been drinking liquids all night. i would find it pretty unlikely to have a stronger hcg level in the evening than morning, but anything is possible.

fmu is just not as diluted, thats all.

HCG levels are highest in the morning (in wee) because you have been asleep and so not drinking water- therefore your wee is undiluted and so HCG more easily detected.

Having said that, when I got my BFP, I tested in the evening 5 days before AF due and got a very faint positive. I then excitedly woke up the next morning and tested again only to get a BPN. Three hours later, my OH persuaded me to test again and this time it was BFP again!

But- as a rule- first thing in the morning wee has the highest HCG levels!

My definate positives were always darker later on for some reason... but then again my body doesnt usually play by the rules! but yes, agree with the others - HCG levels are just higher in FMU as it is usually more concentrated. stalking you as am pretty sure you are going to get pretty soon! I agree about not taking digital too early if are still really faint - they require a much higher hcg level and ic are usually much lower. it is gutting to get a digital after faint positive as you cant work out whether you are still preggo but too early or are just not preggo and it messes with your head. keep using ics and wait til thur to do digi!
