How tremendously stressful for you... so sorry you're going through this.
Bleeding doesn't always mean a m/c - I had a friend who bled every month (like a period) through three of her four pregnancies. All of them ended in happy, healthy babies!
Keep in mind that u/s are dependent on the equipment and the technician, neither of which are standard. It's entirely possible they're just not seeing it and it could be a viable pregnancy - in my experience doctors always make themselves sound like they're the authority even when they're guessing and have no clue.
I hope you get answers soon - and I hope they make your heart sing with joy! Just think what a story you'll have to tell your little one someday!
