Please help me
My 9mo has bitten me 3x in 2 days. So much bleeding i thought i needed stitching, what can i do? It hurts so much and he doesnt understand. I am actually afraid of letting him drink as i am waiting for the pain, he only has two lower teeth but they are like mini razor blades.

What can i do? What should i do?? I'm desperate

If baby bites, take him off the breast and say no firmly. Yes, baby will cry (tons if anything like my little one!) but stay strong. I used to put baby on the floor for 5 mins, ignoring his crying, before I'd feed him again. They soon learn that biting = no boob! :haha:

I also dug out the lansinoh again when I was bitten to help it heal fast. I know how you feel though, the first time my little one bit me I actually lost a chunk of my nipple and bled everywhere! :hugs:

you poor thing! lo did this to me but not as bad, i used nipple shields for a while, im sure its just a phase but i do sympathise x

I told him no, naughty! And he looked shocked for a second then started smiling and giggling....arghh!
I am seriously afraid of feeding him, we have manged last noght though with no biting so lets see...thanks for the suggestions :)

I've dealt with biting (not nearly as bad of bites as you've gotten!) recently. I pumped on the hurt side for a day and gave it a chance to heal. Is that a possibility for y'all? Will he take ebm from a bottle for a day?

like others wrote, you will just have to take him off and say no. And try not to give him reaction (babies think it is a game). Although my daughter response well when I gave her ta serious sad look and told her biting hurts

In the meanwhile, maybe freeze a cold teether for him to bite on and see he does better.

It also helps if you don't bf when they already ate (solid or breastmilk). Babies usually start playing around such as biting when they are not hungry

I would agree with deafgal - my LO only bites when he isn't really hungry. If he's biting I take him off, end the session and try again a bit later. When he is hungry he goes on smoothly and readily and drinks immediately. Playing around/biting is a sign he doesn't really need a feed at that time in my opinion.

Thanks girls, i do think he isnt hungry because i have seen him do the same thing to his water cup, pulling it with his teeth. I try expressing but its the teat he refuses and i cant imagine feeding him from a spoon!!!
