Head engaged at 33 weeks with second baby?

I had my first baby at 37+4. and I always had a feeling id have my second even sooner. today at 33 weeks ive been told babies head is engaged!
I kind of already knew that because I remember how it felt from my first but then they say with second its very common for baby not to engage until labour!

so what do you all think? does this mean I have more of a chance of going early again? Although hopefully not for another few weeks as baby is only 33 weeks.
but with my daughter I remember having a check up on the friday, 4 days later I seen midwife who told me babies head was now engaged and she came 5 days later..

Has anything similar happened to anyone else?

Hiya,

With DS1, his head was 3/5ths engaged at 32 weeks and he was born at 36+3.

With DS2, his head was 3/5ths engaged at 32 weeks, 4/5ths engaged at 34 weeks and he was born at T+12 - big, big shock... I was so pissed at having to wait soooooooo long. Was completely convinced I'd go early.

So, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll labour early. Although fingers crossed you will.

I wondered the same and looked it up, but apparently second babies also like to unengage!

I was fully engaged with first @ 34 weeks and he was 4 days late. 2nd baby never engaged until labor and was 3 weeks early

For me #2 didnt engage until labour. Third time round now, bub has been engaged since 32weeks and ive suffered terrible BH since 28wks plus had an irritable uterus which i was on medication for until 37wks. I am still waiting at 38+5, even my midwife doesnt understand why i am still pregnant lol. Every bub is different

My baby has been 3/5 engaged since 36 weeks and still not here, 2nd babes don't fully engage until labour (though they can drop). xx
