I'm with the NHS too and I agree it's a great deal! That being said though, if I was in your shoes I wouldn't wait.

That really is a fantastic materniaty policy I should have guessed it was a goverment agency. Yip goverment workers get lower pay than they would in the private sector but the other benefits are much better.

That said I would still be tempted to try and see what happens.
I had it set in my head that we'd start trying after January but ended up jumping the gun mid January with the view it was unlikey to happen first month. I didn't want to waste any more time despite the fact that I am currently unemployed (got new job to start Monday) and I might not even get any SMP. I am about to turn 35 and keep getting in a twist over reports that say your less fertilte after you turn 35. Yes I really will be 25% less next week than I am now some how I don't think so but it is scary to think like that.
