So before i always consider myself healthy...

now i wonder if people will tell me or ask me about my health ...

Do you consider infertility as you being unhealthy kind of ? or is it something different ?

Hmm, that is a really good question. Strictly from an impartial perspective, you are healthy. Health, as we think about it, is about a person's robustness or lack thereof and whether it could lead to death. Someone with a peanut allergy could be considered healthy right? But I think infertility can affect many things that we could consider part of "health like mental health.

i keep scratching my head over it...i mean i walk fine , i eat fine but something make me not have baby ...

I know what you are saying, I'm just saying that from an impartial perspective, if they can't see how it would affect your physical robustness, well, they won't call it unhealthy.

I know how inadequate you can feel though, when you get a BFN over and over and over. I feel it. And it probably will get worse as I encounter another BFN upon another. Hang in there miel. I've noticed that we're practically neighbors. PM me if you ever need to talk.

I wouldnt concider it a health problem.

To me health problems are more like Heart conditions, Cronic illness, those kinds of things.

but Suz...don't you think if most people think that way ( and i do too) that is why we have such a hard time to have infertility coverage in inssurance for example ? or some women have a hard time to have there doctor understand they feel like there is a problem and they want to investigate?

Miel, you've hit on the exact reason why it is so hard to get coverage for this kind of thing. The medical profession doesn't see this as a "health" problem - it's not life or death. This is more like a... "nice to have" for them.

The World Health organisation states:
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
According to that definition I'd guess we're unhealthy :(

very very interesting ....

Nope not at all - so many medical reason for infertility that no amount of 'healthy' lifestyle can alter.

I think if you are okay to conceive but you aren't as healthy/fit/good weight as you should be it could delay conception a bit but judging by the horrid people i see at work who smoke crack, eat a bad diet and do not take care of themselves - they seems to be very fertile!!!

Do you mean that the fact we are infertile means that we are not in good health? Or that an unhealthy lifestyle causes us to be infertile?

I think that infertility should definietly be classed as a health problem. After all, if the whole world's population was infertile, humankind would cease to exist. That's a big problem, and one the docs might want to look into!

And, although unhealthy people can fall preg (the lucky ones.....), an unhealthy lifestyle has definitely been found to affect fertility. I'm fairly healthy, though I have various food intolerances, etc, so in the New Year I'm going to go back on my extremely inconvenient (but hopefully baby-welcoming) elimination diet. Reckon I might try becoming completely Tee-total too :hissy:

I know what you mean, makes you wonder if becoming a complete druggie and/or alcoholic will actually make you become pregnant!!!

I've got to say that it (my fertility issues) makes me "feel" unhealthy. I always look for ways to make me "better". I take extra vitamins, I pop hormone pills (prescribed), and I try to eat healthier. I am constantly thinking about what I am eating, what am I eating from, and what I will be exposed to. So, whether or not it is considered a health issue, it certainly feels like it is.
