My wife and I had a miscarriage 4 months ago, we went into our 8 week appointment and only measured 5.5 weeks and miscarried a few days later. Then the following month we had a chemical pregnancy. Now we are pregnant again and just had our 8 week appointment. The night before she started spotting brown so we feared the same thing was happening. To our surprise the baby was fine with a hb of 147bpm but was measuring 7 weeks which the doctor said wasn't a big deal. It's now 2 days after our appointment and she is still spotting/bleeding brown and we are freaking out. Any advice?

As long as its brown, I wouldn't be highly concerned. Its old blood, not fresh. If you've had sex recently, this can cause irritation to cervix which would also cause the spotting. Was ultrasound internal? That could also cause spotting. Your worries are totally understandable given all the unfortunate events that you guys went through to get to this pregnancy. The baby's heart rate is a great sign, its pretty high and that's wonderful. Hope all is well. Make sure she's not overexerting herself. No running marathons or anything. Congrats on the baby.

I spotted all throughout my first trimester, and also measured a week behind at an early ultrasound (I was 6+3 I think and only measured 5 weeks). The baby is so small at that point that the differences are tiny and hard to measure. I had also had a previous miscarriage so I understand how you feel... But my little guy will be 7 weeks old on Friday and is the picture of health! Don't worry... Spotting can be from so many things (personally I had a friable cervix).

Some red blood now =( we have an appointment for 2pm tomorrow it's just with the doc but maybe he'll send us in for an U/S

I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriages xx
Keep positive and what is meant to be will be

I have been bleeding for 3 weeks now .. bright red.. and had scan today and all fine so keep positive x

Heavy cramps late last night with clots and red blood, a lot of it. So we called and got an ultrasound we are at the office now in the waiting room. We've already accepted we've lost the baby but we will know for sure in the next 15 minutes

Keep positive... really thinking of you! Having had 3 miscarriages myself it is so hard.. but stay strong.

What is meant to be will be.... xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxb

Oh no, I'm so sorry for your loss. might be time to discuss testing as to the recurrent losses. She may need some meds to help support a pregnancy. Again, very sorry for your loss. Wishing you guys all the best and really hope you get a rainbow baby really soon.

So sorry for your losses. I too had 3 recurrent miscarriages but when the testing was done there was no cause found for them. However I've been taking aspirin (75mg) this pregnancy as per the doctors suggestion and for some reason this pregnancy is working. Might be worth a try for you once you've recovered. Stay strong and take time to grieve your baby.
