Heartbeat at 8 weeks 5 days - 185

Has anyone had a heartbeat of 185 with their baby?

My baby's heartbeat is 185. My doctor doesn't seem concerned but she is going to give me another ultrasound next week to see what the rate is.

I am concerned though because it seems so high....

my baby's heart rate at 8weeks was only like 130 or something, but my sister's baby's heart rate at 8weeks was around what yours was 180 or so, and she had a perfectly healthy happy boy I think you'll be fine, heartbeats are really inconsistent it seems between one child to the next.

Thanks - I am just running through my head - how much sugar do i intake? Is that playing a factor? what about pop? .. I only have a can a day... and then I think wait, am I including chocolate in this because that has caffeine... lol

The heart rate fluctuates so much during pregnancy. I've gotten many different readings. My doctor said every baby is different and it changes so much that you shouldn't worry about it.

I'm 9 weeks and my baby's hb was 178 during ultra sound and I was told that's good and healthy

It's totally normal.
The heartbeat changes throughout pregnancy. It starts slow at around 5 weeks and a day or so. It goes up by 3 beats per minute every day until about 9 weeks. At 9 weeks it reaches a peak, which is on average about 175 bpm. Yours isn't much above that and is definitely still in the normal range. After the 10th week the brain can take over regulating the heart beat so it gradually slows down until it finds a steady pace for the rest of the pregnancy, usually about 140-150bpm.

Thanks everyone. Finally had another scan and my baby's heart rate is now 169. Makes me feel a bit more comfortable about it.

I had an U/S at 9.5 weeks and mine had a heart rate of 189! U/S tech said that the heart rate was fine, no need to worry.
