Does anyone elses baby do this? Lucas has done a heartbreaking cry while asleep. Took ages to settle him, he didn't open his eyes once. Anyone else get this? It really upsets me as I don't know what's wrong and never feel as if I've helped him. Is it a nightmare? :(

Gabriel has been doing this the past two days. I think he's teething.

He's already cut one tooth but never seen him do this before. It's awful.

Thought it was hunger at first but it's like a weak bleating lamb cry, that's what it reminds me of and he wouldn't take his dummy or anything for ages. It's awful isn't it. Poor babies x

I hate hearing him whimper in his sleep. He's had nightmares before too, but they were different. More scared crying vs pain crying. IYKWIM

Aw isn't it awful. He seems to have been great all day teething wise. Been rhyme time and weighing clinic. He's eaten and drank fine but they do say the teething pain is more apparent at night as there's no distraction. Do you reckon that's what it probably is. Bracing myself for a bad night :(

My eldest Hollie used to do this when she was teething. xx

I've had this tonight, i suddenly heard a scream i ran upstairs to find him thrashing about crying. I rubbed his tum and shushed him and he calmed down quite quickly. He has both his bottom teeth now so it can't be related. It really is heart breaking ppor lamb!

Elliots done this twice while hes been napping during the day, its horrible isnt it :( Its took me ages to settle him

Bens done this quite a few times. Sometimes it just stops after a minute or two. Othertimes I go in (his eyes are clamped shut) and just pat his bum or put his dummy in, gently rousing him then letting him drop back off again seems to work.

my Lo quite often does a high pitched little cry/whimper. Its not a noise he makes during the day, this was something else im gunna ask my hv about monday xxx

DD's been doing this for a while. I remember one morning she woke up and so harsh was her scream that I froze.. I just did not know what to do..All I could do was look at her whilst screaming at my OH "Do something do something".. I think that was a bad dream. She's done it a few times since that morning 9 times out of 10 it's wind that she struggled to bring up after a feed.. I will never forget that morning though :nope:

My daughter still does this sometimes and she's five. Don't know what it is and she never remembers x

Nolan does this a lot and it breaks my heart, but I have no clue what it is about.

aww Noah does this, its the saddest cry ever and it makes me so upset and then when he's calmed down he does that sharp breathe intake thing when you've been crying too long :( xxx

Yes exactly like you all said and it's nit the general cry out in the night you sometimes hear. It grabs immediate attention it's scary x
