Hi, has anyone else had this?
AF came when it was due at 28 days and i am 3 weeks post operation but i know this is TMI but it is very very heavy, flooding and clotty - which i am not used to at all and the cramps are awful.
Its worse because I can't even use tampons yet as not 4 weeks after surgery !

Anyone had this experience ?
thank you

Hi! I had my lap & hysteroscopy in March and had the same thing. My first period was worse than normal and definitely had more discomfort with cramps.I remember having clots and lumpy things come out. I don't remember my doctor telling me I couldn't use tampons but I felt more comfortable with a pad that first time around.

What day of your cycle are you?

Good luck!!!

Hi I had a laparoscopy and a laparotomymy and both time were VERY heavy with huge clots it's all the tissue that is left over from surgery just think ov it as a clear out your next one should be much better

Thank you both, this is day 2 of my period and i agree, i think pads are easier but rank!
hopefully next month is better
appreciate your responses

I had the same, quite heavy with clots, but I am now in my 5th cycle following the operation and my period is still pretty weird i.e. the first day sorry for TMI it so dark red, almost black in colour, it scares me. is this normal?

hi Briss, mine was also black coloured, weird
what men don't have to go through !

I found this it might help but long story short black/dark red blood is old blood that hasn't left th body quick enough taking into consideration having the surgery if you think of all the loose tissue ect that will be blocking/slowing the blood flow I can take a good few months to completely clear away

Thanks ladies! I did not know it can be this dark, although for some reason mine starts with dark red/black and then from CD2-3 it's very heavy and bright red. Maybe it's leftover from the previous period?

Had my laparoscopy July 11th and period 28 days later. AF has always been on the heavy side but this. Cycle was a bit heavier than normal, I'm told it gets better, best wishes

has anyone started spotting after hysteroscopy? I am on CD 8 and last two days have been spotting, so upsetting this is the seconds time after the operation that I have spotting :( I did not before I had this surgery
