i absolutely love spaghetti! i used to eat the cheaper shop brand before I got pregnant but paying a lil more for heinz makes me feel good as apparently 1 tin adds to one of your 5 a day!! (tomatos i assume lol) but is there any actual nutritious quality or are they just yummy :) lol
 
You need the carbs for bub. And tomatos contain lycopene which is great. I guess a plate of cabbage is better but spagetti hoops are good too.
I want to know if sweetcorn counts as one of your 5 then why doesnt microwave popcorn???? I cant get enough popcorn at the moment.

What makes me laugh is that in the US pizza is classed as 1 of your 5 a day???!!!
I love spaghetti hoops. I pretty much lived off them when I did slimming world trying to lose my baby weight first time round!

Spaghetti isn't at all bad but I would try to eat the fresher kind. Just get a box and boil the water and add your sauce because it's much better than the processed kind in a can. I eat a lot of pasta of all kinds (hubby's Italian) and my baby is growing lovely. Pizza is the same. You can make it homemade and it's pretty good for you because of the tomato and cheese. Just opt for a skim cheese. Happy eating!

Yes its sad!! Theres been a hubub in the news regardin improving school lunches to have more whole fruits veggies and whole grains, yet lobbyists managed to get Congress to agree that the something ridiculous like 2 tablespoons of tomato PASTE on the school pizza counts as one vegetable serving!! Uh, no. :nope:

Anyway the canned noodles/spaghetti is surely not a problem in moderation, but it IS probably loaded up with sodium, perhaps sugar, and other preservatives. There are some delicious fresh pasta and jarred sauces out there! Id balance the 'hoops' craving with some of the fresh stuff too (so funny that theyre called Hoops! Never knew that).
 
Yep, everything in moderation! One of my earliest cravings was canned ravioli...but now I'm doing my darndest to stay away from anything canned because of BPA in can liners (not good any time, but especially while pregnant!).

They made such a huge fuss to take BPA out of baby bottles and water bottles, but all our canned food is loaded with the stuff:
