So- I haven't been on BnB for months but I find myself needing it again.

I can now class myself as a single parent I think  To cut a long story short for the time being as I am knackered, OH was arrested and charged with assaulting m yesterday. He has been bailed to his mums and is not allowed contact with me until his court appearance.

My quick question for now is....what do I do now? Where do I go, who do I speak to regarding finances, custody of Chloe, just some support. I am at a loss right now as to where I turn

Firstly, huge hugs :hugs:
I remember you from a long time ago and I was really worried for you back then. I was wondering where you had gone.
I am so glad that he's away from you but I'm also so sorry that it came to that!!
Silly question but are you okay? How is Chloe?

My questions- Do you work? Do you have a lawyer?
Firstly, go to a lawyer and tell them the story of everything. Give them evidence if you have it. Explain that you don't want him to see Chloe. Is this right? And they will help you with that.
If you don't work. You need to phone the jobcentre and apply over the phone for income support. Try and do it as quick as you can as it takes a little while to process.
Contact tax credits and tell them your change in circumstances.
Go to your council and apply for housing benefit/ local housing allowance and council tax benefit.

I know it's a lot to take in and you must be all over the place right now but just do it a little bit at a time and once it's done that's you sorted. Even write a list of things to do each day and you'll be fine.

Sorry about the essay. If you need to talk. I'm here to listen. I have also been in an abusive relationship and I stopped my ex seeing LO. He is currently in the process of taking me to court.

You can do this. Stay strong
Thinking of you. :hugs:

Im still working out what to do myself but tax credits and council tax are the big ones you will get 25% discount on council tax being a single occupant and the tax credits will change as you dont have his income so will go up but they do take a while they will also re-evaluate the working tax credits as well as the child tax so no need for extra calls

then i guess get a lawyer and get your evidence together

I have no advice but just wanted to say ((hugs)) and you have me on FB if you need me just inbox me! x

:hugs:

Have a look round your local councils website. On there they have lots of advice and tell you where to go, what to do or who to talk to when things like this happen. They will give you address's of places if you want to sit down with someone and discuss what to do now (free of charge) or a number for you to call someone, anything you need!

Big hugs hun :hugs: xxx

Thanks very much ladies

I do work part time but my dad has spent a lot of time researching today and has found a place near me that will help me deal with everything- they have applied for welfare benefits on my behalf and I have an appointment to go and see them and talk through everything-I think they can pretty much help me with everything. - just popping over th GS to go in to a bit more detail!

Community law is a good place for advice and make sure you let HMRC and DWP about your change of circumstances.

As i said in GS, if you ever want a chat with someone local just give me a shout :hugs:

Amy huge :hugs: Feel bad for not chatting in ages! x

If you need to off load im here for you chicky x
