Hello!

Even though I have been lurking for a long while, I have been eagerly waiting to become active. After my recent diagnosis and finalization of when we will begin TTC, it would seem like now is the perfect time. c:

Well, here's a little background information! My husband and I are both 24, but will be turning 25 in January and March, respectively. We began dating during our sophomore year of high school, at the age of 15, and were married in July 2013. :hugs:He is my absolute best friend and such a wonderful husband ~ I could not feel more blessed!

He is attending a college near our home and I am also working on my degree from home, through a distance program. Along with school, my husband is also working in a fantastic office, while I left my position as an infant/preschool teacher last year. It was a horribly difficult decision, as caring for children is truly my heart's passion, but we both felt it necessary for me to focus on my program and leave the volatile environment of my former center. Now, I am taking care of the home, which I absolutely love to do!

Becoming a mother has been my dream since I was a child, and I have been yearning to begin trying. We waited to be married, of course, and discussed when we should begin trying. While we would happily try right now, we decided to wait until March 2016, as my husband should be finished with school in December 2016. Financially, we are humbly comfortable, but he will begin working full-time as soon as he's done with college and that will surely be helpful! It is also to respect his family, as they are entirely supportive of us, but would also like to see him graduate before having children.

Unfortunately, I began to worry after not having my cycle since the beginning of June. It had been fairly regular for the last year, but before that, was entirely scattered. The longest it was absent was for nearly a year, when I was 19! I visited an OBG/YN for the first time and, after some testing, she diagnosed me with PCOS.

I was completely devastated, as every choice I have made in my life has focused on the hope of having children. To be honest, I was also shocked, because I do not seem to "fit" most of the PCOS criteria. I am quite fit (normal BMI), practice an extremely healthful lifestyle, work out, do not have an abundant amount of body hair, and my insulin test was perfectly fine. There is no issue with my thyroid, I have no problem losing weight, and my ovaries are not polycystic, at all.

The only abnormality was that my testosterone is high. Combined with my amenorrhea, my doctor decided that PCOS was the culprit and that I would "likely" need medical assistance to ovulate. As a sort of health nut, I fought against any sort of medication, seeking to go the natural route. However, I agreed to one round of Provera in order to force a cycle, as she told me that uterine cancer can develop in those who do not shed their lining every three months.

And, this is where I am! I should be finished with Provera by Friday and will be waiting for my cycle to start. Afterward, I will begin to take Black Cohosh and Vitex, hoping they will naturally regulate my cycle. If so, we will begin to try in March; but, if not, it's back to my doctor to discuss what to do next.

Sorry this was so long! I'm a writer and tend to type quite a bit. Although I have talked with my family about all of this, I am very excited to meet other women who are going through the same difficulties! Because of my diagnosis and the possibility of it taking a longer time to conceive, I almost want to start earlier, but am going to try and stick with March 2016!

Hey there!
I'm Jasmine, and I'm 22.
I haven't had quite the same obstacles you have but I still look forward to seeing your future posts.
I have a son already, his name is Lucas and he's 3.
I am also an aspiring writer! I'm so glad to see someone with a common interest.
