Hey ladies!
I'm new to this part of the forum :)
I had my baby boy 4 days ago, and have just managed to succesfully breastfeed him for the first time (I'm still in hospital, due to him being 5 weeks prem). He had his tongue tie snipped yesterday - this had been stopping him from latching on.
The MW just helped me to feed him, and we had him lay on one ofmy pillows. I wondered if it was worth getting a special pillow? Is it worth the money? Does anyone have any reccomendations?
Thanks ladies!
Xx

I use a boppy pillow

Its fabulous!

I use it every time I breastfeed, plus I can use it to prop him up, or for him to lay on for tummy time, and also just to hold him and cuddle him so my arms don't get tired.
I recommend getting one.

We don't come across Boppy much in the UK, the equivalent pillow here is the widgey (not sure if it is identical and just known under a different brand name but if not it's very similar).

cheaper alternative. I didnt fancy paying big money for a pillow, I didnt have one first time though wish I did and this time around I am getting this one.

I use a "My Breastfriend" feeding pillow. A bit pricey, but it's saved my arms and back during the long feeds. Still using it now for my 5 month old, and will prob continue to use it until he grows to large for it. And then i'll use it for my next babies. It's well worth the money. Maybe you can find one second hand?

I have a "my breastfriend" nursing pillow too but I didn't use mine much at all... maybe 3-4 times. I just used regular pillows, worked for me :) I hear great reviews about the breastfriend pillow though

Congrats on the birth :) hope you both make it thru fit and health..

Erm... I used the widgey pillow for the first few weeks... My baby is 4 months old now and i dont use it at all... I will just use it as a support for when she sits up.

Honestly.... Just use a pillow or 2 if bubs is very small... I think a normal pillow work just as well.

xx

My nursing pillow is a lifesaver and definately makes nursing more comfortable for me.
