HELP! 6wk scan showed no fetal pole!

Hi Everyone,

Details: LMP 7th April (should be 9 wks preg today)

I received a positive preg test 4 days after my period was due. HCG test was good but as i did not feel pregnant at all i went to have a scan done. The tech told me i had a blighted ovum as there was only a gestational sac measuring 13mm. I prepared myself for the D&C.... but then future blood test confirmed my hcg kept rising.

So on Friday i went in for another scan and there is now a yolk sac and the gestational sac has grown to 17mm!! However its measuring me at 6w 3d when based on my last period i should be about 8 weeks, i'm very confused!! My HCG last week was 28,000.

I am booked in for another scan in two weeks but im so confused and worried as to why there is no embryo yet and why i am measuring 2 weeks behind ;(

Has this happened to anyone? It seem that my pregnancy is progressing but VERY slowly!!

I almost do not want to answer. I did have something similar 2 years ago. I even had a heartbeat, and I was nearly 12 weeks. The HCG was rising, but slowly, and then, I found out my baby had stopped growing 2 weeks before. I do not want to upset you, and I hope you do not take it that way. I hope your situation ends better than mine,

Maybe the baby implanted much later did they do a vaginal or tummy scan?
Don't give up hope yet Hun baby could just be a slow cooker xx

Are you sure if your date? It could be a blighted ovum but could also be you ovulated later then you thought

my sister in laws "empty sac" at 6.5 weeks just turned 2 weeks old! they wanted to give her a d&c but she waited it out thank goodness! hang in there hun

Got blood test results back today and my hcg has reduced by 2000 over the past week. Was 27,000 now 25,000
Not looking good....

its possible dates are wrong, I swear I knew my dates but have been off by 2-4 weeks.

I went for internal scan should have been 7 weeks sac but nothing else second scan 3 weeks later fetal pole 2 weeks later heartbeat (by lmp should have been 12 weeks but was dated at 7) went for standard dating scan at 12 weeks by my original scan and was told 10 weeks currently 36 with a happy healthy (all be it a touch small) little boy. No idea what/why this happened just blessed that he hung on good luck to you x
