Hi ladies. I am on cd 29 of a 35ish day cycle, i have been having increased amounts of CM since yesterday and have been hoping this is an early pg sign! I just found an old OPK lying around so i thought why not.. its postive!?
(not as dark as the control line but quite dark) Now im thinking if im Oing now and im worried as i thought i was in TWW so have not been BDing. :dohh:is there any of reason for the positive OPK???

Your LH level can rise more than once in a cycle, or stay higher. Was the test expired? The other thing is that ovulation tests don't just dectect LH surges. They look for a general rise in hormones, some of which are similar to LH but not exactely the same, which is why an ovulation test can sometimes show a rise in hormones when u r pregnant. If the test you took wasn't expired then maybe try taking a pregnancy test. Good luck! Ps. Remember that an opk is not positive unless the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. If the test line is lighter then its a negative result.

i O's on cd 28, (had a 42 day cycle). You may be O'ing late - get BD-ING!!! :) and good luck

thank u ladies. the test is in date, the reason i say it was nearly pos is because i have never had a line as dark as the test line so my positive is wen its near on the same colour. im worried of testing early because its still at least 4 days before AF is due. thank u for ur replies i will keep u posted :-)

It depends how long your cycle are, the longer they are the later you o, I'm on 24 now and still no positive.
There was a thread on her ages ago when the woman's cycle was sooo long so she ovulated very late and still got her positive.
Your meant to have more mature eggs that sometimes don't last aslong or something like that x

my cycle is about 34 days ish. oh jeez now u have me worried lol. if that is the case then iv missed the window and im out :(

I have a 33 day cycle, they normally say you ovulate 10-14 before your period is due.

I'm not sure if I ovulate, been trying nearly a year and 1st month trying OPKs, I'm on cd23 and not had a positive yet x

If your cycle Is long you don't o as early as others x
How long have you been trying? X

If you're just gearing up to ovulate now, and your opk is almost positive but not yet....then don't worry you haven't missed the window! The window is now! BD and keep testing!! It is possible that you're just ovulating late, and will have a longer cycle.

thank u. i am pining my hopes that it is detecting hcg instead of lh as i have heard they r nearly identical! i am going to test on friday as have some symptoms already. i will bed tonight just to make sure though:happydance:

i had no luck with opks when i tried them as i never got a positive line.. they were always just slightly lighter than the control line so i gave up as it stressed me out!

maybe u ovulate later then usual.. if not im sure doctors can give u something to help u O. i have been trying for 9 months (an early loss 2 months ago) hope u get ur positive opk soon! :dust:

I always have a faint line but that's obviously what's always in my body, I think if I don't get 1 I will worry, but got a blood test on Thursday to see if I do or not x

Sorry for your loss, at least you defo know you o if you've been pregnant before so that's a good thing x

thank you. thats good about the blood test! and i agree about one good thing about the mc is i no i can fall and i do o :) x
