We seem to be struggling narrowing down our list of girls names so I need some help. I don't think 'the name' is on our list and so I'm still on the hunt for the perfect name.

We like 2-3 syllables as this goes best with our surname.
We're not having a middle name.
We don't like common names but also don't want anything too unusual (if that even makes sense)
We like the kind of old school names that seem to be making a 'come back' but are also keen on modern names as DD1 is more modern.
We're Scottish so I find a lot of names don't work with our accent :dohh:

Any help appreciated?

I'm not sure if these are too common but names I love right now are-

Eilidh
Hannah
Alannah
Alice
Emily
Hallie
Hayley
Iona
Isla
Imogen
Lily/Lillie
Rosie
Grace

Agatha
Audrey
Beatrix
Cora
Eloise
Edith
Florence
Flora
Imogen
Jemima
Josie
Marnie
Martha
Norah
Olive

Evelyn is our first choice and lilly is our second I also like Alice, grace, Edith, syball and a few Welsh names

Hoping to bump this thread as we are 5 weeks until due date and still no name for baby girl!

We like:

Isobel
Imogen
Macy
Darcy
Blake
Blair
Margot
Noa

Any opinions on these or a suggestion of something similar?

My favorite older names are Alice, Luciana (Lucy), Mabel, Libby and Hazel.

I think Isobel is really pretty and Imogen. Other suggestions

Elodie
Clara
Annabel
Annalise
Lillia
Lois
Harriet
Isla
Holly
Alannah
Gabrielle
Ellen
Anna
Alice
Megan
Millie
Robyn
Blossom
Eliza
Hattie
Iris
Thea
Polly
Bonnie
Matilda
Maisie
Ivy
Nancy
Erin

Right now I like Margot and Lucinda (Lucy) best.

If I go with Margot Lucinda, the name meaning would be Pearl Graceful Light.

DH likes the symbolism of Margot (it was my very brave Grandmother's name) but thinks the name sounds ugly. :(

Do you think Lucinda Margot sounds better?

I like classic names, obviously. Not a modernist here.

I also like Carol, Diana, Helen, Laura, and Carla.

I have Annabel, so obviously I love that! There seem to be much less of them than Isobel/Isabelle at the moment.

Miss Maple - my real name is Lucinda Grace but almost everyone calls me Lucy. I like it as a name! In your list I also like Laura. Not a huge fan of Margot though.

Chelsea
Hayley
Emily
Leanne
Anabelle/Isabelle
Laura
Lauren
Jessica
Heather
Katie
Sarah
Abigail

Hope you manage to decide soon. X

If you’re looking for something unique, try Xylia (zy-lee-ah), or instead of Katie, change it to Katia. Chelsie, Haylie, Lauryn, etc. Best wishes. x
