Help! Delayed cord clamping/cutting

I'm being induced tomorrow and I am just finishing off my birth plan.

I am requesting that they delay the cord cutting and clamping but am I supposed to write to delay until it stops pulsating or just for the two minutes or is it whatever comes first?

We went for pulsating, you can even have it delayed until after the placenta has been delivered if you like, that was another option the MWs gave me.

i had in my notes i wanted to delay cord clamping until the cord stopped pulsating, but im rhes neg so said they could clamp just before if they had to and i wanted a natural third stage

well my mw only got to the birth just in time so didnt read my notes. the cord stopped pulsating so fast and i delievered the placenta much faster then i did with my first which was a managed third stage

if the cord is clamped before its stopped pulsating then its stopping blood coming from the placenta into ur baby, so they lose blood that is theres. by delaying clamping they get all there blood

theres alot that mws just dont tell us and this is one of them as its easier for them to clamp fast, even tho like i said before my third stage this time around was alot faster then a managed.

even if ur not into home and natural birthing its good to pop into that section as theres so much advise in there like cord clamping

When I asked about this I found that it was actually hospital policy in our area to delay cord clamping anyway! I still asked them to to make sure but they seemed to think it was pretty much taken as read that it would be allowed to stop pulsating before clamping.

Interesting, don't know how mws can get away with clamping it so fast if it's so important
