Help First Appointment, Bit Confused

so i have my first booking appointment tomorrow morning at the overflow midwife center as mine couldn't get me in for 6 weeks, and the lady on the phone said i needed to pick up a pee pot and pregnancy pack before i came, but didn't specify where i picked those up from???? have any of you been in this situation, where do i go? xxx

I got mine from reception at my Dr surgery

id phone them and ask if a maternity pack is waiting for you. As my midwife filled the front of mine in and then left it at the gp desk xxx

Mine just had a stack available to give out to anyone who asked! Good idea to give them a call, they will be used to it

Because every OBGYN I've been to will administer their own pregnancy tests after getting a urine sample from you. If I had instructions to do that, I'd just bring in my Wondfo test and pee in a cup in the bathroom and do the test there

I've been reading that they do other tests with your urine, but I think its just the overflow clinic I'm going to, it doesn't matter anyway because my GP's wouldn't give me a pee pot anyway, they said they Weren't allowed to give them out so I don't have one anyway.

Over here you normally dont go straight to the midwife.. you have to go through a Doctor who does a test and then refers you to the midwife clinic.

I've been reading that they do other tests with your urine, but I think its just the overflow clinic I'm going to, it doesn't matter anyway because my GP's wouldn't give me a pee pot anyway, they said they Weren't allowed to give them out so I don't have one anyway.

They sometimes do the dip test to make sure you've no urine infections etc xx

you have to re-use your urine pot thats not very good since it needs to be a sterile one each time so its not contaminated in any way. Mine always gives me one at the end of each appointment. xx

had mine earlier, she didn't even ask for any urine after all that worrying!!! took her 3 attempts to get any blood from my arms as well but i think that's my veins faults rather than her bad stabbing.

I went from the walk in center who did a test to confirm, to a doctor who literally just referred me to a midwife center, the midwife center had no appointments for 6 weeks so they referred me to an overflow clinic to do my booking appointment, which is what i had today.

Mine did a urine sample to test for any infections etc.

a blood test for hepititis rubella iron levels and blood type. A couple of other nasties too.

they dont confirm your actual pregnancy here just believe u. I kinda want to hear them say i am even tho ive done loads of tests lol.

I reused the same urine pot all through my 1st pregnancy and you have to take it home with you. They only give you one! (UK)

Could it all have changed in 2 yrs? I had no bloods or wee sample taken at my first Mw appointment last time. Don't think I had any bloods done until 16wks if I remember right... And they checked my wee for protein the subsequent appointments - I used the same pot each time. Once I forgot it was in my bag until my nephew got it out and ran around a restaurant with it... Yuk!! Haven't booked my appointment yet, trying to hold off so the wait doesn't seem as bad. End of next week I'll ring me thinks x
