I just came down with a sore throat and cold and am just miserable! It's 4:30am and can't sleep because my throat hurts so badly. I was already exhausted and miserable just being pregnant and I have to work on Monday. Now I'm super nauseous from phlegm dripping down my throat.

What do you guys do to heal a sore throat and get a full night's rest when you can't take anything?

A hot tea...maybe something with fennel, put in some lemon, braggs apple cider vinegar, and honey. There are recipes that tell you how much of each on the web.

a humidifier...

Vitamin C

Tons of water

You could also try some eucalyptus on your feet. Just rub the bottom of your feet with the oil. Ive heard that works wonders. I think its safe during pregnancy but you might want to check. I cant imagine why it wouldnt be.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Honey and lemon in boiling water helps sooth the throat and I use a vapour rub under my nose when I'm all stuffy and blocked up. I've also put some on my chest and back these past few nights as I haven't stopped coughing and I NEED sleep! Hope you feel better soon. You can take paracetamol as well. I've had a couple of Soothers for my cough. Seems to be a mixed view on whether you can have them when pregnant but I think most people seem to say you can x

Thank you. I had some lemon tea last night but it only helped briefly. Apparently though, throwing up clears your throat for a few hours :( Yeah, found that out by accident. I didn't know vapor rub was okay. Maybe I'll give that a try.

I'm sorry you're sick. I have been sick since Wednesday and it is miserable not being able to take anything. You can gargle with salt water and a little vinegar. The salt soothes the throat and the vinegar is great with killing what's in your throat. I need to take my own advice though. I hate gargling... I hope you feel better soon.

I gargled with salt and apple cider vinegar diluted with water. That does not taste good, but it seemed to help a bit. Thanks for the tip!
