Hi everyone

My hair is in good condition at the.minute intact the best its been probably since I was about 11! I'm.going to grow it out and.was looking for some advice to get it growing quicker.

I got some lee Stafford growth treatment I know it isn't going to make my hair miraculously grow but apparently it keeps it in its best condition to promote new hair and keep it strong. So does anyone else have any tips? Anyone who's grew their hair how long did it take? I had a bob cut in around June and its just over my shoulders now.

Thanks!

My gf has long gorgeous hair, I'm doing the same as you and she gave me this advice (she's also a nurse):
Try not to blow dry/use heat styling aids on it, it will create split ends and frizz/thin your hair.

Use a little oil on the ends, if you have lots of money you can find Moroccan Argan oil, it's used for it's light consistency but an extra light olive oil woul do as well. If it's too oily either try using less or use it every other washing. They used to powder their scalp & oil their hair in ancient times -it works. Our body naturally produces oil to protect skin & hair, it's just that we wash so much it doesn't ever get the chance to get down to the ends.

Don't wash it everyday if you can get away with it.

Folic acid helps cellular division, not expensive potions. Spend your dosh on this supplement rather than giving it to some potion inventor sitting on his yacht and your body will thank you.

Try not to use alcohol/acid ( lemon juice, bleach, dyes) if you're wanting it long. It will thin it out & dry it out.

That's it! Mine's grown from assymmetrical chin length bob to shoulder with 2 trims since last year. Hoping it'll be way long after I come back from mat leave. Gl to you!

I've been growing mine for over 3 years and its in the middle of my back now. I was advised to get my hair trimmed every 8 to 10 weeks when I started to grow mine, which is often enough to keep it healthy but not so frequent it doesn't grow. You've nearly got past the worse bit if its nearly over your shoulders, I hated getting it past my shoulders!

You can get multivitamins for hair and nails, I'm not sure if they make it grow quicker but they're pretty cheap and maybe worth a try.

I take kelp and alfalfa for my hair skin and nails, im on my second bottle and couldnt reccomend it enough, its 2tablets a day.

Just to mention tho u cant take it if ur on any sort of thyroid medication.

Also good supplements to take for thr condition are those that contain Essential Fatty Acids such as your flaxseed oil capsules, and evening primrose oil capsules.

My hair is thigh-length, and I've been growing it for a few years now. How long do you want yours to be? Here are my biggest tips:

- Don't use heat to style it, if possible.
- Wear it up as much as possible in buns, braids, etc...that keeps the split ends to a minimum, which means you won't have to trim as often.
- Use a satin pillowcase so you don't get tons of tangles while you sleep.
- Detangle gently with a comb instead of ripping through with a brush. Don't brush when you're hair is wet, only use a comb.
- Try not to wash it every day...every other day or every third day is better.
- As a previous poster suggested, using a little bit of oil on the ends in beween washes works well...I use coconut oil.
- Take a multivitamin every day.

Thigh length wow! :D how do you wear it on a day to day basis? Mines at my bum now and can't decided whether to keep going or not because I can't think how I would style it (I'm pretty lazy lol).

I wear it in a variety of different buns, usually with a hairstick. Sometimes I wear a side braid. I don't often wear it completely loose at this length, it gets in the way and I sit on it a lot :haha:! There are a ton of different styles you can do that take less than a minute...try searching on youtube for "long hair styles." If you want specific bun recommendations to search for, I use the nautilus bun most often, but also the vortex bun, braided bun, and rose bun. If you like braids, try searching for the rope braid, french braid, and coronet braid.

My solution is 22" extensions :) mine just wont grow and has been the same length for years, couldnt go without my extensions now :) xxx

I am getting my 20" extensions taken out next week so will be back to a short bob. Not looking forward to it, wish my hair would grow.

If you want to try argan oil, I know avon sell it.
