At 28 weeks my LO was frank breech (bum down legs up). I was told if she hadn't turned by 34 weeks then I was having a c-section. As I'm small framed they thought it was highly unlikely that she'd turn.

At 33 weeks I had contractions from 11:30pm-2:30am every 3-6 minutes; turns out she was turning around and engaging.

My son turned at around 35 weeks - and he was born at 35+6 so just in time! :haha: This one is breech at the moment too, but she moves all over the place constantly! x

Mine is in breech now too and I am hoping she turns in time...

thankyou ladies you have helped me to stop worry about it for now,i think if she turns il know about it as she hardly moves at all it more a dragging of the feet or hands i feel lol,

Good luck to all you ladies as well on the birth of your babys and hope you all get the birth you want x x x x x

I am 37 weeks and they think my LO is breech. I find out for sure tomorrow as I am having a another scan. Will let you know how I get on.

My baby was breech until about 31 weeks I think. I didn't notice it turning so I think there's still plenty of room in there at that stage.

My first was breech throughout the pregnancy and no amount of ball bouncing/squatting/crawling and headstands shifted her!

This baby has also been breech throughout.

I say its uncomfortable, but then I have never had a baby who has been head-down so cant compare!!

LO's head sticks out right at my chest - feel as if I have 3 boobs sometimes!

My LO is constantly moving - moving head, hands, feet - not actually whole body movemnts.

I would know very quickly if LO had changed position.

Before they offer a c-section they should offer an ECV to try to turn baby - I would recommend you give it a shot, though the success rate may only be around 50% but if it avoids major surgery then surely its worth a go!!

Turn babies!!

I don't understand how everyone knows where their LO is positioned. I'm just about 34 weeks, and the midwife still can't tell, nor can I. She said if they are still not able to determine at my next appointment, they'll send me for an ultrasound.

It feels like his head is up - that whole 3-boob scenario like ellie27. However, most of his hiccups are down really low. Plus, I swear he moved 3 times in 24 hours, so if he's still that mobile, there's no telling where he'll end up! So confused!

hi ladies i had my 4d scan yesterday and my little lady was breech, her bum is sitting low in my pelvis and her legs come up and her knees are infront of her face and feet over head as you can see from my scan pic ive put on,what are the chances she will turn head down in the next 6wks and how many ladies have had this and there baby did or didnt turn,im scared of having a c section but trying to be realistic with it all and prepare myself, thankyou for any info :flower:

i only know she is breech from my scan but with my dd and ds my midwife was able tell me from 28 wks how they were lying in there,i felt my dd go head down at 27wks and also new when she engaged and with ds i only new from the mw but did feel him engage, this baby has been completerly different, maybe every mw is also different and some can or can not tell plus i guess it depends on how much water ur carrying too :) x

They dont seem to be willing to let you wait in the uk, they just seem to want to book the c-section :( x

My first was breech throughout the whole pregnancy and not once did I ever feel pressured to let them book a c-section.

I was sent for a scan at 37wks to confirm still breech, then we opted for an ECV which was done at 38+5, unfortunately it didnt work, then c-section at 39+3.

Even this time they and I are hoping for a vbac, rather than c-section.

Dont feel pushed into going for a c-section.

And remember, fair enough if they want to give you a date booked, but the date should be for 39+wks so baby could still turn.

This has been a great thread to read

My baby was breech at my 31 week appointment, and i think he still is, i have an almost unbearable burning pressure between my ribs, and that was where the midwife said his head was, i actually feel like it's stuck, the whole area feels bruised. I genuinely worry that his head is trying to grow and it can't! I was in tears at work yesterday in the toilet - not like me at all - on my doppler this morning his heartbeat is really low down though?

He also isn't moving as much these days and that worries me, i'm actually phoning my midwife later for reassurance and advice on what to do to minimise the pain! I've took today off work and i only have this week left at work, but i just couldn't face it, hoping to get back in tomorrow, so hoping the midwife will reassure me, i'm annoyed cas this is the first pregnancy 'sickness' related day i've had off - right in my last week, doh!

I expect i'll just be taking the advice of my midwife, with it being my first I haven't got a clue, i'll willingly try the manual turny thing but if that fails i'll have a c-section if needs be, whatever is safest for my baby...or he might turn, like you say, still time yet.

I have an anterior placenta and apparently that means it's a little less likely he will turn?

my little girl was transverse the whole time untill 36 weeks. i didnt think she would move but i went swimming all weekend and went to the doc that monday, sure enough it got her to move
