So I'll be finding out the gender next week, and I would love to have names ready by then. We've decided for a boy, his name will be Bennett Leo.

I actually had a girl name picked out first, Margo Kate, and I was in love with it! My husband said Margo sounded harsh, so I tried to move on to other names. Now he is fine with it, and told me to ignore what he said, but now I'm just not really feeling it anymore. My husband has zero suggestions, so it's really me picking a name, and him saying okay.

I also like Margaret, but not sold on it. Meredith is pretty, but it's hard imagining a baby with that name.
Ruby is probably the front runner right now, but I do have reservations with it. I'd prefer not having top 100 names, and Ruby is, especially in other countries. Another reservation I have is my maiden name was a color, and my sister's name is Violet. I was against naming her that due to the color last name, so it seems weird giving my own child a color name (our last name is different now.) If I used Ruby, I have no ideas for a middle name.
I also really like Alana, but will not use it due to the likelihood of mispronunciation and misspelling.
Other names I had written down-
Caroline (too common)
Sloane (Neither of us LOVE)
Lydia (Husband doesn't like)
Norah

Please leave suggestions :)

How about some random names!

Okay, I like Meredith, Alana, and Violet...

Not huge on Margo, Ruby, Lydia, or Sloane.

Random suggestions:

Alyssa
Iris
Madeline
Cora
Sadie
Vivian
Delaney
Harlow
Caitlyn
Lilith
Natalie
Piper
Rebecca

Good luck! :thumbup::flower:

Sloane is definitely one of my least favorite names.

Out of the ones you've suggested I quite like Meredith, which can be shortened to Merry whilst she's young (and seeing as Merry means happy I think that's quite cute for a baby). I'd worry about the constant "haha Merry Christmas" comments from other children as she enters school. I imagine that joke would get bothersome extremely quickly.

My suggestions to add are:
Nellie
Ethel
Dorothy
Donna

They all keep with the vintage feel

I think Margo is super cute though I prefer the Margot spelling as it looks more formal/complete to me. I also like Meredith and Ruby, you could go with Edie as a nn for Meredith when she's younger.

Other suggestions:
Ivy
Annabel
Etta
Thea
Adeline nn Addy
Stella
Esther nn Essie or Ettie

I actually love Margaret! Can't use it unfortunately, for family reasons. :-( You could have Margo as a nickname or Maggie when she's little? Aw, I'd forgotten how much I love that...

Thanks for the name suggestions! However, no girl for me! Found out today it's a boy! :)

Congratulations on a little boy!

I love Ruby for a girl, it's so pretty.
I also like:
Orla / orlaith
Scarlett
Lydia
Lola
Lois
Grace
