I thought this was just a phase that he's going through but now I'm not too sure. He's been this way since he was around 8 months or slightly younger. He would scream when someone besides myself and dh holds him and he would freak out of we left him with someone else. My dh and I go to the gym and we put him in the kids club we stay with him for 10 minutes or so before leaving. Right when we started leaving he followed us to the door and started crying non stop.

My husband said to just leave him alone and maybe he'll adjust. It's not the first time he's been there and there were other kids. So 10 minutes later on my way to the bathroom I glimpsed inside through the side door and he was still standing in the exact spot crying.

I decided to go in and check on him and the care taker said she was about to call us since he wouldn't stop crying and even got so upset he threw up a little.

He wouldn't even let my mom hold him but I think she barely sees him often enough. If he's in a good mood he'll let my siblings hold him but only after they've been around him for an hour or so and with me present.

Is there anything I can do? My mom keeps making me feel Like I did something wrong. I'm freaking out since I am 21 weeks pregnant and don't know what to do with him once d day arrives.

ahh I remember we had the same period and it was heartbreaking. What helped is that we had the same people (daycare) every day so it was familiar, not mommy/daddy but somebody else she got used to and could rely on. So if you're planning to leave him with somebody, keep it the same every day even if for very short amount of time - it should be same person, same environment (that your bubs likes of course). Be absolutely sure that whoever it is, they can distract him, play with him and cuddle him right after you leave. Don't stay too long saying goodbye, hun as it usually ends up in major hysterics. Drop off/kiss/say bye/walk away and don't look back. I remember this period and it was just so bad I always ended up crying longer than DD :) She was taken care of and was happy within 5-10 minutes while I'd cry my eyes out all the way to work :)
