HELP, need to know what goes in a reference!!

Me and my OH have found a flat that we would like to rent, we've viewed it and have let the estate agent known of our interest in the property. However they've asked for references but I dont know what this should include? anyone know who or what they should say/include? thanks xx

They are just character referneces, My OHs boss (when he worked) and his doctor did his. Its just to confirm you are who you say you are, your character type (trustworthy etc) and what you do for a living or something similar.

pretty straight forward, If your very unsure, ask the estate agent what type of details need to be included
