My little boy is 6 weeks old this friday, I am a bit worried he is feeding a little too much i have now put him on too 6oz feeds as he was taking 5oz's and still wanted more.

Over the last few days he is having his 6oz feeds going to sleep then a hour later waking again for another feed....i thought maybe he just wanted cuddles or a dummy but he does not want to be held or want a dummy he just wants to be fed any clues?

He might just be a hungry baby and need a heavier milk. Is he doing anything else that causes concern? My dd was feeding to help her reflux before it was diagnoised.

They say he has colic cos he crys alot tried him with colief for that but he works better with infacol.... he also breathe's really heavy and gulps at his feeds.

give him hungry baby milk and maybe offer him walk inbetween feeds just be careful feeding him more than every 3hours as he might end up with colic as often babies who are formula feed and feed every 2-3hours are more likely to develope colic, if your worried talk to your doctor or midwife, also keep an eye on his weight if he's eating alot and not putting on the weight as proof you need to get this checked out...

Totally sounds like reflux honey, take him to your GP. HV told me my baby had colic blah blah blah, load of rubbish. This is what she did:

Feeding all the time

Spitting up clear liquid

Sick after feeds even hours later

Bubbles and dribbling

Gulped feeds

I've spent 100 buck on bottles, kept changing them due to the gulping. Please get him check as it's easily sorted.

I feed him cow&gate infant formula atm...someone said to switch to sma but was worried about switching him incase of problems.

i had to stay away from cow&gate and SMA as they both messed up my son big time, he ended up being on enfimil AR in the end until he was almost 2

my guy drinks 6oz ends up being 42 oz in 24 hours, he is quiet after feeds, we thought it was colic, dr said just keep feeding till he throws it up!!

Could it be he's having his 6 week growth spurt and it will settle down soon? Abby is 6 weeks next week and my HV told me today to look out for it anytime now...

Hth, MGxx

could be he is just hungry. my son was the same, hes 12 now, had him on 2nd stage formula at 2 wks old, 9oz bottles every 3 hrs, i was wacked out. im now wacked out coz nicole is now 2 wks old and hv said she needs to go onto comfort milk but i think she might be hungry and not colic. strange how they seem to think its always colic

It sounds like the 6 week growth spurt to me. Just keep the bottles coming and he'll settle in a few days : )

I'd say it's probably a growth spurt too. Just give him what he wants when he wants it - it will soon settle down. I wouldn't worry about hungry baby formula until LO is having 8/9oz bottles and you run out of room for more!

It doesn't sound like your LO is having any problems with C&G, so I'd be inclined to stick with it. I use C&G and we've got on really well with it.
