Went to doctors yesterday to get my DH sa results, and all was good. So that means that I am ovulating with no probs and DH has good sperm.

Why then is it not happening onto cycle 13 now. The doctor has said he will not do anymore until 2 years and I burst into tears. What else can I do? Can I pursue that he refers me sooner or do I need to wait. Has anyone been in this situation and if so what did you do? Please Help

I think we're in the same boat as you, DH is fine and I have just minimal endometriosis but not anywhere near bad enough to stop getting a BFP, so we've been told we're dealing with unexplained infertility. Have you had a lap and dye? I would definitely pursue it further they shouldn't just leave you and they should do all the tests they can and maybe even try you on Clomid for 6 months and see if that kick starts anything.

I agree with Vicks, I think that after a year your doctor should be looking at an HSG test to make sure there are no problems with your tubes. I've heard that some doctors are a lot less willing than others to let people go on medication and start fertility treatment, so if your doc is being unhelpful, I'd get another opinion.

Good luck!!

I think different doctors deal with IF differently. Its a good idea to visit another doctor who is more willing to help and get blood tests and HSG done.

We are in a similar situation as you - SA ok, tubes r clear, i think i ovulate. Who knows what the problem is!

I definitley agree with the ones above. I ovulated and was always super regular and never had bad pains or anything to make me think I had endo or PCOS. So I never thought anythign was wrong with me. But the first thing the FS did was do an HSG test and found out that both my tubes were blocked and there was no way we could get a BFP with that. So after the HSG test I had a Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy (Lap & Dye) surgery. FS says now they are all clear.

Definitley get a second opinon or ask your OB about the HSG test.

Good luck

Hi

yep in total agreement with all of the above, my doc although I've had a few issues had ordered me for swabs, sa x2, cd21 bloods, pelvic scan and then fs has suggested hycosy to see if my tubes are blocked, so just waiting for that
so I wouldn't settle for waiting 2 yrs, ok I mean my nurse did mention that it can take 2 yrs which I accept but I certaintly wouldn't just settle for not having some investigative checks in the mean time

x

I guess it would also depend on your age. But our OB told us it usually is a year but to only wait 6 months and then we start with test. I'm glad we didn't wait longer because it has already been another 6 months to go through all the test and look at our options.

I'm praying that it will be right at the year!!!! FX!!!! I'll be having my first IUI right at our 1 year aniniversary.
