Help please - daytime sleeps

My 11 wk old will self settle in the Moses basket after 7.30pm when she goes to bed but in the day she will sleep no where but me. It's so frustrating as she just cries when I put her down, I tried putting her down before she is asleep and also tried when she is asleep but it all just ends in crying. I've tried soothing her with hand on chest & pick up/ put down. Nothing is working! I feel at 11 weeks she should be willing to at least occasionally sleep on her own! Am I wrong?

Snap!! Had an hour of crying this afternoon when I tried to put him down, did the whole shusshing and patting and eventually gave in and let him sleep on me! Let me know if you get any luck with something new! Saying that my friends little girl who is now 18 months still will only nap on her or in her pushchair!
