help please...everything going against me...

So my baby is almost 4 weeks old. He was in the NICU and so on bottles for the first week while I pumped. Once home, I established breastfeeding (also continued pumping). Then last week I got hospitalized again for a hemorhage. I had surgery and baby was back on bottles for 5 days. Now I'm trying to go back to nursing but he won't latch. As it was, we were using a nipple shield. I've tried with and without. I don't know what to do.

I have spent the night and most of the morning crying.

I would spend a day in bed skin to skin with baby in just a nappy. just let LO nussle and perhaps let a few drops of milk run down your nipple so he can smell it and hopefully root for it! I imagine the ttransition with nipple shields might be slightly easier for LO? You've both come through so much already, I hope you find the answers you need this time too!
