help please. is this normal or should I be worried?

I had my baby by c-section, my second, 18 days ago and today I noticed the end of my incision where they tied the knot is a bit red and stings a little. I also used to be able to feel the stetch at the end but now I cant.

Should I be worried?
Coukd this be an infection or have I pulled out my stiches?

Are you applying anything to it? How were you sent home? (self dissolving stitches w/glue?) Are you drying the area after baths? If you can see it on your own (my belly was too big) is there any puss? I would gently wash the area, dry it and apply a small smear of antibacterial ointment (like Neosporin) and check it often to see if it looks ok. Does it smell weird? Is there any discharge?

i would go get it checked just in case...the right side of mines got real red and a week and a half after my section it ripped open a bit and was pussing for 5 days and i had to go on antibiotics in case there was an infection. i felt like i had to recover all over again so i would definitely not wait to get it checked out hun

Don't know if you already had it checked, but I would definitely have your dr. check it out. Like pp said, you don't want to take a chance of it opening or getting severely infected. Hope it's doing better for you now.
