Hey ladies I am hoping someone has some insight for me on here. I have had two early losses in the last seven months. The last loss was on May 31. I went about 70 days without a period after the loss before I used Provera to induce a period. During that cycle I passed gray tissue and was confused as my HCG levels had confirmed everything should have passed. But, I though okay you know it must have been clinging on in there. It took 43 days to get AF starting today as cycle day 1. I had thought I might be pregnant this months but tests confirmed I was not. I was happy for AF to come because we can get back to TTC. I just passed what appears to be more tissue. I was told during the miscarriage you could tell the difference between tissue and blood clots by putting the material in hot water and checking to see if it had dissolved after at least 10 minutes. So I did it and waited an hour before checking and this is what it looked like after an hour....Help me please I am so confused :nope:

It does look like tissue, hun, but could just be a particularly stubborn clot. xxx

Thank you. At least I am not going crazy.

It could be a piece of tissue left over from one of your previous losses. It doesn't look like fetal matter though, like an embryo, just a bit clot of leftover afterbirth.

it looks really similar to my retained pieces of placenta after I had my DS

I had a clot like that after my mmc, I thought it was my placenta but I could be wrong...

Thank you ladies. I think it is a piece of the placenta. When I passed the placenta it was damaged. This is the first period I got without medication. I wonder if there was still low left over HCG from this and that is why it took months for AF to come? We thought the miscarriage was complete so the Dr. canceled our last scan because he knew I was a mess already without another empty scan, at least it seems like it is finally over. We have been TTC and nothing was happening but after everything that has passed since AF I can see why we weren't conceiving. My OB is on vacation of course lol. But, I think when he gets back I'll schedule an appointment.

It's not uncommon to pass more products of conception in the first or even second period after a miscarriage. It sucks but at least it came out on it's own and you did not get an infection or need a d&c to remove it. To be safe, you may want to have your doctor do an ultrasound to confirm everything is now out. (I have been through this more than once so I really am sorry you are facing this).
