Hello, just looking for some advice/ideas for my windy baby!

He is 10 weeks old and is formula fed on Aptimel and we use Avent bottles.

He winds fine during the day, we use Infacol and that seems to help.

He goes to bed at 8pm and i dream feed him at 11pm. No matter how hard i try i cannot get any wind out of him after this feed.

I know people say that they dont need winding after a dream feed but every night at 3am or 4am he wakes straining like hes trying to pass wind. He's usually up for a hour and then we can settle him again but then hes up at 5am again for a feed.

I cant get any wind up after this feed either and so he then wakes up at 7am straining again. This time i get up with him but he falls asleep on me for another hour or so and usually takes his next bottle at 8:30am - 9am.

Hes getting so much better with his feeding but he is not sleeping through because of this wind.

Has anyone had the same problem and if so how did you fix it??

Was thinking of trying gripe water but cant find any anywhere, does anyone know where i can buy some and recommend a brand?

I would love for him to just wake up for his feeds, i hate seeing him in pain :nope:

Thanks for you help!

Think I remember reading a thread a few weeks ago about Gripe water not being around anymore and then I saw it somewhere else too...... they may have stopped making it

my LO used to be like this with her night feeds, so I used dentiox in her night feed bottles, this helped my LO loads.

Hope it gets better for you

xx

Gripe water was take of the shelves for some reason! You can actually make your own though, have a look online. xxxx

Hi,

I have tthe exact same problem with my little boy...he's always been difficult to get wind out of since birth really and we tried EVERYTHING!!! Nowadays, he's 16 weeks old and although he rarely burps at his late bottle (@11pm ish); any trapped wind he must have doesn't seem to wake him anymore! Don't know what changed for that to happen...may have just been his digestive system maturing to manage the wind better (which I was told might happen between 3 and 4 months old):

we used infacol in every bottle and gripe water before his last 2 feeds of the night (7 and 11pm)...that, teamed with a warm bath half way thru the 7pm bottle (seemed to get all his farts out!!!!) and some cycling of his legs.

they have stopped making gripe water now and boots aren't selling their own anymore either...some stores may be selling last bits of stock...u will be lucky if u can find any now! I ordered 3 bottles online from lloyds pharmacy about a month ago, but now nobody seems to sell it...ive seen some sellers online selling iit for 20 quid a bottle!

A routine I do that works for my little girl is you hold her in front of you so she got her legs hanging down straight, then you push down slightly until her bottom is on your lap and her legs pushes up on her tummy slightly. Do this bounce, up and down 5 times, then position your baby on your lap and gently pat the bottom and move up the back with gentle pats. They has never failed to bring up a burp.

You can also tilt the baby slightly towards his right side and massage slightly on the right side of his back in clock wise motions.

I use infacol which is for colic and wind - I now have a different little boy

I have no advice to give as my LO is 15 weeks & still suffers with night time wind. Never the day. Once she has eoken for a feed she is then up every hour or so squirming with tummy pains.

Try your local spar for gripe water though. Everytime I've been in they've always had it! Strange as I can't get it anywhere else at all.

Edit: sorry I've just realised that this is an older post now so you've probably sorted it. Our night wind has suddenly got worse, hence why I'm searching for solutions at 3:45am!!! If anyone does have any magic ideas I'd be very grateful. My lo is bfed. Not that it makes any difference. I could splap the mw who told me 'bfed babies don't get wind!'. Lol!

I saw gripe water in Morrison's before. I use Infacol though and that helps.

they do still sell gripe water in boots, i picked some up the other day!
i use infacol atm and that helps a bit

xx
