hi, i hope someone can help or may have experienced same simular

well im 40 and pregnant, very happy about it...... my so is 16 and i have had 4 m/cs

well i did a text 2 and half weeks ago was clear blue and said 2-3 weeks.

a week ago tonight i had really bad cramps and bleeding, went to doctors who sent me to hospital, just before left doctors on way to hospital had a huge clot about size palm hand, they did blood test internals etc at hospital.... went for a scan in the morning and they found a 6 week baby with great hb, but said they could see where clot had come from and it looks like the baby had moved down (how they know this i dont know as not had any previous scans) they also said that the sac was very small, and its 50-50 to what happens.... came home did bed rest, bleeding slowed right down after day or so to just a heavy period with only tiny clots..... it stopped today and i feel so well to how i did all the cramps stopped yesterday, first day without pain...... i have another scan thursday morning, but im going crazy so i did another clear blue test this lunch time and it is now saying pregnant but only 1-2 weeks.......
does anyone have any thoughts about this, all i can think is that my levels are dropping because the baby has died...... please help any experiences or advise
much love to all

Hi Fairy

I'm really really sorry about what you're going through - it sounds horrendous and I really feel for you. I'm pregnant with my first and I've never been pregnant before so I don't have any personal experience of what you're going through. From what I have read, the CB result going down to 1-2 weeks is a really bad sign - sorry to be so blunt but I don't want to give you false hope. The only thing I can think of to suggest is that you see if they can bring the scan forwards so that you don't have 48 hours of going mad. Hopefully there will be some other ladies along with more positive experiences that they can share with you.

:hugs:

thanks for your honesty this really was my last chance being 40 years old. do you think i should ring the hospital ? and tell them i have done another test ?
i think they must think we are all mad but its so painful, once you see that little heart beat xxxx much love too you

Age doesn't count for that much nowadays and there are more and more women having children later in life. Don't give up hope on having a baby although I would be asking for tests to find out what's causing your m/c's. You might find that a few changes in your diet help - like cutting out caffeine for example which is quite simple. I hope that your SO is supporting you well - you must really need it at the moment - and that he is dealing with it ok himself.

If you want to call the hospital then do it. I'm sure they won't think you're mad - they'll think your going through a bloody hard time and should want to help in any way that they can.

I'm so sorry you're going through all this :hugs: Definitely call the hospital.

I have heard of cases where people have been carrying twins and they miscarry one, but the other is then ok. I think you get a dip in hcg then. You never know, it could be that, so there's still a bit of hope xxxxx

So sorry - hope that your baby is ok in there :hugs:

Are the EPU monitoring your HCG?

After 4 mc did they do any tests for recurrent mc?

You deserve every happiness after the pain you have suffered with so many mc

So sorry fairy - that sounds very difficult to say the least. My thoughts are with you. Maybe the cb test said 1-2 weeks just because you took it mid-day instead of fmu? Fingers crossed for you. If the EPU can get you a new scan, you should try, if only for your peace of mind. And while I hold out lots of hope for you this time around, it's isn't your last chance I promise!

One thing you might try to do to calm you down is acupuncture - they say they can help prevent certain types of mc...

Your hormone levels can drop for a variety of reasons. But I have heard that having a bleed can reduce the levels, but if it were me I would be phoning the hospital for another scan to put my mind at reast coz worrying is just as bad

sorry about what you are going through, it looks like the levels may be going down but you cant be to sure until they do another blood test, try to stay and think positive, i wish you all the best. i also had a pregnancy where the levels where reading low until week 11 i still got a faint line, so try not to worry to much. :hugs:
