We are in the process of switching LO to formula and really it's goin well. He is on day 5 of the changeover and is down to a max of 2 breast feeds a day (usually morning and night) and the rest formula. Touch wood he has had no nipple confusion at all and seems just as happy on either. He is much more settled which is what we wanted. Hopefully his other issues that we swapped for will e sorted soon also

My main problem is the night time. Yesterday he was a sleepy boy in the day. He slept between most bottles and was very settled. I even had to wake him for the breast feed in the evening or he would have missed it. But he's only 3 weeks old and I know that good sleep in the day is supposed to help with good sleep at night so I just let him slumber yesterday.

His last bottle was at 11pm and after it he was wide awake. No amount of rocking helped and I couldn't get him down til 1am. He then awoke for his night feed at 03.30 which is really good, but we'd technically only been asleep for 2 hours!! After his feed he seemed still hungry (definitely no wind at any point as we are vigilant about getting it up) and again wide awake! So despite his feed finishing before 4, again he didn't go down til after 5 :-(

It's now 0730 and he's awake for his next bottle and I feel like death!

What am I doing wrong? Did he sleep too much in the day so didn't sleep in the night? Or does that not make a difference?

Should I try to put him down without rocking to sleep (did try once but cried)

Is it just early days (eg the night before he slept straight after his bottle and didn't finish it, unlike last night where he seemed hungry after both!)

Any suggestions most welcome! So tired!

id say its just early days your lo will be getting used to when to sleep etc just try different things maybe tryvskipping the nap before bed see if makes a difference or
not. id say untill about 4 month i wouldnt worry most babies sleep whenever without routine.
